Thats where the mind games begin and we start trying to "anticipate" what the opponent is going to bring. But basically you gotta choose between Domination, Illusion, Fast cast and Inspiration so if you know what every single skill does there's a lot of strategy involved.

Which is why d3k managed to start killing me after the first 15 rounds or so
I never modded my build for a long time, running a wastrel's build more suited to hex warfare. That and as a PvEer, I chain casts instictively (why I lost a few to Chronias' megainterruptspammer).

mind wrack + backfire + WW + mantra of recovery + energy burn + energy tap + ether feast + guilt/hex breaker? backfire lock, anti-focus swapping, and straight damage while they can't do anything
makes sense in my head, but i'm sure theres a counter (you could spam WW if hex breaker is up)

I bet you never saw that coming!
Anyways, my general attitude is reserved for PvE. In 1v1 there's a beauty to wastrel's.
Cherng, that could work, but as soon as I saw you had no interrupts you'd be taking a backfire. Hex breaker is pretty vital also.

ya
ya this is basiclally the only fun thign to 1v1 in pvp.... everything else is too easy scrimmage, i havnt met one necro/ele/monk/war that could beat me yet, 1 ranger but that was my own fault (brot an IW skill set cas its more fun, and he just crippled and kited me... even with distortion lol) ... vs mesmer so far ive lost 1 won 7 , been greeeatt fun... my favorite duel (just cas of the complete ownage) was me as stolen speed/ itnerrupt spammer vs a Fragility Mesmer (she ate dirt .. constantly). THen she went anti caster and i entered the fray of hex warfare, and she ate a bit more dirt .. (go WW + backfire + shatter hex + shatter enchantment, ect. ect. ) i love it, ne one wanna 1v1 btw?? (ign:: Zindread Deathshade), we will have a good fun time~! i promise ... hehehehehe

Heh; guess the trick to being a mesmer is to do the unexpected...don't count on me using diversion though-cause it ain't happening.

I'm usually the guy who puts Diversion on people in TA and GvG. Wastrel's Worry spamming is...unknown to me.

Well if someone is using diversion in a mesmer duel...I pity them.
A power block to the face followed with WW for the win...ouch.
15/3*64=320...and that hurts

1) They'll have other attribute skills
2) Someone tried that on me... the first time, I cast backfire with guilt on, the second, feinted with feast to make them miss completely and then backfired in peace.
But yeah... diversion isn't good... interrupt fodder, doesn't have that much effect, and its easily evaded.

Of course they will have other skills; but as I said in another thread...WW casts fast and allows you to hold back for interrupts as well.
We leave them inspiration magic and something else...I will assume they have inspiration (because having a non supportive 2nd attribute would be silly) not many skills there that are not powerspikable/powerleakable/interruptable...Maybe an energy drain if you were slow to counter it because it was right as you started WW...but I doubt it.

Don't forget the enemy's wand attacks will deal 15/1.33x1/2(22+11) = slightly under 180 damage as well. You'll also have to contend with hexbreaker (its not a spell, so Block won't stop it), with 1 breaker you can stop 2 WWs.

I would love a duel with a fellow mesmer, so far I have been dueling my guild/alliance and... well they just don't compare, well except my Guild Leader. We had a 30 minute battle and no one won.

Hex breaker ehh? So it gets foddered by WW only to have another hex hit them in the face ^_~:; lovin that plan =p
Also don't forget we have wand damage as well; in fact more than they do. Using WW to interrupt our own wand attacks will cut down on the lag time inbetween them. Something I doubt you have accounted for.
