Can some1 run spell check on this, correct it, and post it here please? I'm afraid I don't have the deciphering potential to handle this myself.

I don't think there is a real build at the stage you are in. Most builds require you to have certain skills that are acquired later in the game.

Skills that are good later in the game are:

Worstel's Worry (WW) - good vs bosses and wurms
Conjure Phantasm (CP) - good early in the game
Clumsyness - good vs warriors and rangers
Empathy - good vs warriors and rangers
Any type of disruption - good vs spellcasters (especially vs monks)
Cry of Frustration - good vs all

I don't know what your 2nd profession is so I can't help you to incorporate that into your character.

Every quest is actually easy until you hit Thunderhead keep.

You should be able to have lots of fun with mesmer.

The only thing I can truly help you with is the Ascention quest (in the desert).

Bring the following to it and you will have no problems at all:
Empathy (domination) - Max
Illusion of Weakness (Illusion) - left over
Spirit Shackles (Inspiration) - Max next
Spirit Of Failure (Inspiration)
Signet Of Capture
Res Signet

The last two can be any of the following combinations:
Signet of Capture x2 (for a total of 2 or 3)
Reversal of Fortune
Blindindg Flash
Iron Mist
Light of Dwayna
Resurrect
Dark Fury
Defile Flesh
Enfeebling Blood
Insideous Parasite
Spirit Of Failure
Soul Feast
Any pet skill (except for edge of extinction, energising winds, fertile seasons, primary echo, symbiosis)
Dodge
Lightning Reflexes
Any Axe, Sword, or Hammer skill (just don't go into melee range)
Shields Up
Deflect Arrows
Disciplined Stance
Frenzy
Flury

Basically, any other skill that doesn't do the doppleganger any advantage. Just cast the above spells (the main ones) and watch your foe die.

Remember, do not attack, just cast. Then you will have 100% success in your ascention.

Enjoy

*Stands up for wastrels*
-not for bosses and wurms
-not to spam it
-to delicately use it; which many d not seem to do or have the build to do. In which case I am against using it. Interrupts and wastrels go together like cheese and bread; good by themselves and great together. However when used correctly together they become toasted together with the flames of synergy and form a girlcheese...(man this analogy sucks...)

Default hey

well my 3 favorite build have to be a Disrupter (Stolen Speed (elite), Power Spike, Power Leak, Power burn, Guilt, Energy Burn, Backfire//Empahty, res sig with 16 domination, 11 inspiration, rest in fc)

2nd one == echo nuker (basicaly go /e and bring mostly fire spells; i think i run the following, if i can remember:: Flare, Arcane Echo, Meteor, Bed of Coals, Energy Drain (elite), Meteor Shower, Power Drain (for ur energy needs), and Res sig; i find that you get by fine with the lower energy by using those two energy stealin spells, one gives u 16 for 5, and one gives you 23 for 5 (i think i used insp 11, fire 12, rest in FC (8 or 9)

Last build:: Classic IW mesmer

IW (elite), Flurry, Ether Feast, Conjure phantasm, Power Drain, Distoriton; i cant rememb rest pme me in game @ Zindread Deathshade or Soul Bandit

im not sure how much this will help since everyone has an elite, but i hope it gives u ideas

I'm at The Frost Gate right now, I'm using the following build -

Domination 7+1+1
Illusion 7
Fast Casting 7

I think I'm level 14, so if you have more or less levels, adjust the attributes however...

Empathy
Backfire
Energy Burn
Conure Phantasm
Phantom Pain
Shatter Delusions
Energy Tap
Power Spike

This has worked out pretty well for me early in the game.
I didn't use any secondary profession skills. I'm a necro secondary, but if you're using something else, there may be some secondary skills worth using. But I dunno! Good luck to you!

Default Wastrel's

WW is for bosses and wurms.

Reason? Both bosses and wurms cut the duration of a hex in half. So instead of 3 seconds, it lasts 1.5 seconds. No spell or skill used within 1.5 seconds, BAM! WW gives damage to foe. Don't bother using it on normal monsters, as they can use a skill within 3 seconds. Yes, you can interupt skills and spells used by normal monsters usually, but instant stances and such are skills that you can't interupt (unless you use a long lasting hex that interupts when target uses a skill).

PvE, use interupts when in a group because others will heal and do damage. Since you are a Me/N (I have a N/Me ) you can utilize blood magic with domination magic to do some serious harm.

Once you start to cap (in desert area), you can get SS (in the southern part of the Shiverpeaks). Then when you get to Fire Island, you can buy Archane echo and start to spam SS (Spiteful Spirit).

What Eaimirth Etaivella was saying was:

If you cast WW then disrupt each skill/spell, then in 3 seconds, WW will activate causing damage. You will then do damage from interupts (domination magic) and then from the activation of WW. Hence Cheese and Bread. The use of Energy Surge (Elite) will cause damage to target and enemies near target, which makes those enemies toasty. (Just not in an elemental fire sorta way).

Combination spells that stack are really good, like SS + Parastic Bond. Anyone trying to remove a hex, removes Parastic Bond first (as it is the last hex cast). Once Parastic Bond is removed, you gain X (depending on level) amount of health. SS will still be on target.

If you play like a fighter, you can cast fragility on a warrior, go up to them and cast Rotting Flesh + Chilblains + Plague Touch + Signet Of Agony + Plague Touch. Then cast Virulence for more damage.

Make sure that you can inflict conditions on your opponent, if you can't, you'll die by this method.

Diversion is good again Siege wurms in Dune of Despair. You must put it at the good moment because the have half hex duration. If you did it, the wurms can't attack for a long time.

Empathy and Backfire are useful in PvE in Tyria. But in Cantha, I saw the mesmers Jade Brotherhood have Expel Hexes

Diversion isn't the best in most PvE places. When it comes to wurms your best just letting a ranger take care of it, that or spam WW to kill it fast and interrupt its Seige. With most skill though by the time its dead, it hasn't even finished its own recharge, let alone the Diversions additional one. Nice to bring for the Fire Islands though to teach Willia/Convetina a lesson

Yet monks bring stances in pve when the they hand out snowcones in fow...not anytime soon. Open with WW; shatter their enchantment monk begins to cast orisons, power spike it, WW again monk begins to cast healing breeze, Cry of frustration it, WW again monk begins to cast ... (102+100+44+64x3+80)

Screw it-pblock the damn guy shatter him, ww him, eburn him
game

WW is a great skill-not "only" for bosses (although it works exceptionally well on bosses)
