way of the empty palm useless? what are you talking about? may be uselesss in pvp but in pve i can get 5 combos out without having to wait for energy. critical strikes plus zealous dagger tang means my energy stays on 25. 1 combo kills an enemy. thats 5 enemys dead before i have any sort of problem. pretty good if you ask me

AoD has far more uses than any other teleport skill, by far. Look at iB vs. EW #2 in the finals...

If they stay together they have bigger problems to worry about than HoO. Positioning and AoE...

Shadow Step didn't need a nerf. Good work Anet with not realizing that every assassins was using the AoD combo because every other style to play assassins sucked hard. (in PvP that is. PvE asn just blow period anyway)

But anyway, the problem stands. The Assassin cannot "assassinate". If you were working against dummies then, yes, you can assassinate. But when the blocking and the kiting start to happen, there is none of that.

Right now there are very few good reasons to take an Assassin over a warrior if you're trying to gank. An axe warrior can still do more damage, take more damage, they just lack the snap-damage skills of the assassin, which isn't missing out on much.

Assassins need buff on the skills that slow the opponent (a better siphon speed, 40/40 instead of 20/20), or make evades and blocks less likely (buff Way of the Fox, faster recharge).

This ENSURES the kill, which is something a lowly (I hate warriors) warrior can never do. It's okay if we can only gank 1 person every 30 secs as long as that person will definitely die.
They are buffing unseen furry and we have expose defenses.

I'm going to have to agree here. Siphon Speed is a terrible snare for assassins. The #1 reason is the 1s casting time. If a target is running away, you're giving them an extra 1s head start... you just catch up to them before it wears off.

Deadly Arts is plagued by excessively long recharge times and activation times with little to show in terms of damage or duration. If I wanted to play a hexing melee character, I'd be better off going A/N and taking curses over deadly arts. The Crippling Dagger and Siphon Strength changes are a good start, but they could have done a lot more.

Note that enduring toxin will now be very usefull. And you mentioned recharge times, thats why they gave us assassin's promise. Only problem is you give up AoD. I think we are missing something to teleportation. Using AoD is amazing. But perhaps we could do teleporting whilst staying in the fight thus largly improving our efficiency.
