Shiro's blades. Any good?
I just got me some shiros blades by beating the game. Should I use them, or sell them?
req 15
damage +50 ^50
vampiric :3
health + 30
is that vampiric worth the -1 regen (and thus +X regen enchantment)?
If you find the vampiric mod effective, what build are you using with it? (which + X regen enchantment)
im just trying to figure out if I should sell them and buy ceremonial daggers or not...these blades look sick.
Thnx

That is incorrect. Requirement only matters if you don't meet it. If you have 16 dagger mastery, any dagger with otherwise identical mods will do the same damage, independent of requirement.

I have 16 in dagger, so that is no prob. What I want to know if how you guys deal with the -1 regen, and the enchantment you use to counter it. Energy is very important to the assassin and getting -1 energy regen to counter that -1 health regen...is it worth it? Or should I just get the ceremonial daggers instead... (please say why the daggers if those are better. I am interested in the reasoning behind the choise)

The Vampiric mod, at least while you're attacking, is essentially free damage. The health stolen balances out the degen while tacking 3 extra damage onto every hit. It's even more effective with Doulbe Striking - Assassins are the most effective Vampiric users in this game short of Barragebots. Keep a switch on hand to keep the vampire from eating your HP while not actively fighting and you'll be just fine.

i think its worth it because if you have high critical strike, then you could easily make up for the -1 regen because you gain energy everytime u hit a critical (at least thats what it is for me)

I use the shiro blades myself on my sin and its very good. I dont like vamp weapons but it doesnt bother me on daggers, as their attack rate is high and u really get the lost health back. That -1 degen doesnt hurt much, but if u wont fight for some time then just switch to somehting else. Ok i have to admit i keep running around with it, cause i like the looks of that thing ^^. so if You do have 15-16 dagger mastery, then i can only recommend to use it ^^

http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Damage - you get a bonus every level over the requirement of your weapon.

Then proceed to Balthazars Temple. Attack the 100 Armor Dummy 5-6 times (No Specials) with Shiros, then repeat with Ceremonials. You will see the Max and Minimum Damage is the exact same between both weapons.
Also you can ask a Guild Member to allow you to test it in a Scrimage match in Guild Hall (I'd suggest a Monk friend ofc to heal themselves). Same results as you will get in Balthazars.
*Edit* Only damage bonus you recieve is from Attack Skills. e.i. Jungle Strike at 15 Dagger does +20 Base +31 if Crippled vs 16 Dagger it does +21 Base +33 if Crippled.
Also Shiros will ofc do a bit more damage due to the Vamp mod with the extra 3 damage per hit. I take Ceremonials, Shiros, and a non Degen set of Daggers with me at all times. This way I can do extra damage with Vamp, get Energy with Zealious and ofc Plain Daggers to Let Energy/Health regen.

Shiro Blades, hmmmm, not the best blades I have to admit, but it aint bad. Disadvantages are high req, which we all know, and not very good idea to go afk it.
Personaly, I usually always be switching daggers from F1 to F4, you got to use different daggers at different situations. Shiro Blades of course on low health, and to show off, since I think it looks the best.
Use other daggers such as Xeakou Daggers if you use enchantment alot, e.g. Like Shadow Form, Shadow Refuse, Critical Defenceses etc etc.
As I say, each weapons are best at different situations

You pretty much want multiple weapon sets, and a vampiric set is one that I like to have along with a zealous and an elemental set. Switch weapons as needed - I weapon switch quite a lot in/out of combat

No, you don't. Every 15>50 axe will deal the same damage at 16 Axe Mastery, even if you compare one that is req 8. and one that is req 13. You do a set amount of damage at every weapon attribute level, but if you don't meet a weapon's req, you deal very little damage.
Thats all req. does, if you don't meet it, you do pre-searing level weapon damage. If you do meet it, its like any other weapon with equivalent stats.

sounds like they are good to have, but it is not wise to use an enchantmetn to counter the degen. Keeping them and switching them in/out in battle works best?

Real Problem with them is that only a Primary Class Assassain can use them, a W/A (who they would look friggin awesome on.) could never use them because obviously hey cant have the runes
That and the fact there nothin special its easy enough to buy the upgrades and stick them on a Req9 set of daggers *shrugs.*
They look figgin sweet tho.

Or more precisely, switch them out when you're not in battle. As long as you're hitting things with any regularity, you'll actually be gaining health over time, albeit not much. Just switch to a non-degen set when there are no enemies in sight, or maybe if you get blinded or something.

A note

-The main attraction of these blades is the unique skin. The stats can be replicated with a pair of max slashing damage 15^50 Vampiric Daggers of Fortitude.
-The unique weapon Chkkr's Pincers also has the same bonuses, but deals piercing damage and only require 9 dagger master.

Shiro do Slashing damage instead Piercing.

Slashing damage > Piercing, what skills stop slashing damage? None.
What armors have defence agaisnt slashing damage? Saboteur's Armor, which is one set out of how many?
Bonelace armor for the necro, and Infiltrator's Armor for the assassin stop Piercing.
But the thing is, with all the Ranger spiking going on, I run Bonelace on my necro, so that does not hinder me with my Shiros Blades. Also run Everthorn's Chakrams, as they are Zealous and Slashing damage.
Now, as for the vamp. Shiros blades require 15 dagger mastery, so you might as well just run 16 mastery. At 16 DM you get 32% to do a double strike, thus making you do 6 more damage and heal yourself for 6 (http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Dagger_Mastery) Now, one pip of health degen is 2 HP a second, (http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Pip) and the speed of daggers attacking is 1.25 seconds, which will go up to 0.95 for every dual attack. (http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Daggers) Now, with that attacking time for daggers, and the health degen per one pip, vamp is a good mod. Run it, it heals you and does damage ^-^
I hope I helped.

imo... yes they are worth it
here is my current dagger set :
i usually wield Shiro's Blades & Everthorns and then switch to my Zodiacs outside of battle to counter the degen of both weaps
pressing F1, F2 & F3 really isn't that hard
