Default Solving the AoD and GPS nerf

Ok, so it's been decided that none of us like the nerf that Anet gave to our favorite combo...

The question now is: How do we work around it?

I was running something earlier today with Palm Strike, but as a consequence, you can't really take any teleportation:

Dagger Mastery: 12 + 1 + 1 = 14

Shadow Arts: 8 + 1 = 9

Critical Strikes: 10 + 1 = 11

Palm Strike {e}
Horns of the Ox
Falling Spider
Twisting Fangs
Contemplation of Purity (hex/condition removal in one)
Shadow Refuge
Watchful Spirit (I wanted an enchantment that I could CoP off whenever I needed to)
Res Signet

...

Maybe Black Lotus Strike instead of Palm Strike and Seeping Wound {e} instead of Watchful Spirit? Basically we need a GPS substitute here...

Any ideas on what we should do?

EDIT: Just got time to look, Seeping Wound {e} is only 5 energy, Black Lotus Strike is 10, but it gains you energy if you strike a hexed foe, Horns is 5e, Spider is 5e, and Fangs is 10e.

Let's assume that Black Lotus Strike only will gain you back 10 energy (10 crit strike is likely higher +energy, but I'm going with a low estimate just in case):

Seeping Wound --> Black Lotus Strike: Total Cost = 5 energy

Seeping Wound --> Black Lotus Strike --> Horns of the Ox --> Falling Spider --> Twisting Fangs:

That's -5 -10 +10 -5 -5 -10: Total Cost--> 25e

The problem is that we don't get a teleport in here...so let's work on how we're gonna do that.

...I still don't like that it telegraphs who you're attacking and doesn't teleport you to the target... This is irritating... The devs are the ultimate evil!

Lotus has a 25 second recharge=useless lead. It's 3 combos vs 5 in the same timeframe. As well, just replaceing the minor on crit with a sup will solve alot of your energy problems,as you'll gain 3 energy per crit instead of 2. Seeping wound is also a rubbish elite, vunerable to hex and condition removal, as well as adding very little damage.

But AoD isn't used because you could pull a nice chain off of it, it's used so you had super awesome mobility. So without any teleports, you aren't really solving anything.

I know why AoD was used...I used it for the mobility before it became widely popular. I realize that AoD being a maintained enchantment was simply a perk for GPS, but I'm saying that we need to get our favorite combo up and running again.

I guess I can tolerate Palm Strike as my elite... It is possible to simply use Shadow Refuge to trigger the combo...it just means that you will have to tail someone in order to succeed (I really wish recall enchanted *you* but teleported you to the person that you targeted for the cast).

First, how can you do 5combo vs 3 ...? you wont have energy, and you got to wait for all the skill to recharge ( 15sec for fangs ) etc...

AoD nerf isnt a big problem... and i think 10energy for GPS isnt a nerf... it was really powerfull... 25mana for a deadly combo?! without any need of another skill? like AoD combo AoD back that's all?

Try to use way of the lotus if you dont manage your energy
Get critical eye it gives you better chances to crit and you get more energy from it... etc etc
This is not a stupid nerf

Palm strike wont give you energy back, cause there is no crit, no double or whatever, this is just some damage every 10sec for 10energy... i dont think it's a good elite

i personally will counter the GPS nerf by switching to +5 energy daggers. the damage lost from going away from 15^50 daggers is pretty insignificant that i'm not gonna worry about it.

after all, most assassins will go below 50% hp in a few hits anyways, so the 15% damage boost is active for maybe.... 3 seconds? to tell you the truth, i almost considered switching to the 20 below 50 weapons before the nerf.

as for AoD, the additional 5 seconds on recharge is hardly noticeable, so there's no point in giving it up just yet.

well since the nerf i have been using a build that works just like AoD but instead uses Assassins Promise

mark of instability
black lotus
twisiting fangs
falling spider
duel of your choice(horns of the ox is good)
return
assassins promise{E}
purge conditions

the combo is still viable, it's just that now it needs different equipment. Full Shroud, and a +5e Zealous Dagger is enough for AoD->GPS combo. If you manage to crit during the combo, that'll give you enough energy for another 5e skill. When you teleport back out, weapon swap for better energy regen.

Still pretty effective imo, of course the recharge on AoD can't be helped =/

Its a nice build, but where is the self heal? Or speed buff?

I still sticked to AoD-GPS-HotO-FS-TF, this takes 10+10-1+5-1+5-1+10(-1)=36(-1) energy in 5 seconds. During this time 5 energy is regenerated so my +15 ^enchanted dagger can still be used as long as I wear full + ener armor. With 16 dagger mastery and 11 crit strikes the chance of landing a crit is 34 %, and a 32 % chance for doublestriking so critical strikes are normally landed to provide the shadow refuge/CoP afterwards.
