There are so many ways mesmers can beat their double, so even though most of us use fairly standard methods there's no reason NOT to get creative.

I think my ele got him with 2 MS a M and a FB...think aoe patch would kill that plan though...he was still casting attunement. Ahh sup fire runes were about 8k back then...when my ele hit him that is.
