Well, I'm sure most of us were stuck with inventory that in retrospect we wish we'd sold for cash (e.g., that Sup Absorbtion that I got right after they improved the ettin drops). But so be it.

As for farming not yielding good results -- 6000 gold/hour still seems eminently doable with an elementalist, and with all the prices down, 6000 gold buys a LOT.

What gets me are people who post here saying "I NEED 15K armor, and I don't know how to make the money for it quickly enough." Uh, who "NEEDS" 15K armor? It's just

A. A minor aesthetic improvement to your character.
B. A way to show off what you've accomplished.
C. Both of the above.

I hear ya, bought a sup absorp for 55K and held onto it expecting the price to go up, not into the basement
Yet I dont complain, the money is spent and I've used it now so what the hell.

Indeed, I LIKE the new prices.

I chose A but only for my female warrior (Canthan 15K) because I thought it looks great and I had the money, went for 1.5 Kurzick for my Tyrian warrior.
I dont care it cost 15K nor do I go around "hey look, I gots l33t 15K armor!", I just like looking at it

Need it? Nah, I need less money then ever for chars, the only thing that I need money for is to feed my high level key habit

Default ok..

Ok let me explain abit more. I am not about the gold. I currently have 600k+, just spent 500k on my guild hall a month ago, i have three green pets, and a horde of other times includeing over 180 of each type of dye's SAVED.

It's the fact that you can now only get good mods on gold weapons and IF you can get good gold weapons then awsome. Otherwise i used to scrap gold weapons for mods and build other gold weapons with low requirements into good golds. I also like to collect items. I enjoy farming and it was like christmas when you got gold. Now it seems like i am going to have a heart attack/panic attack waiting on the gold to drop.

Basicly i am saying they spoiled my fun and my way of making gold.

Also its not like i need armour. I just gave away 14 amber after building my 15k kurzick armour. I am really a nice farmer who enjoys it. I farm for the fun of it but i am also a collector.

Ok, i went out troll farming for 1 hour and went in and sold then ran back out; over and over. I came out with 5,526 gold. 1 Hour of farming troll cave is not worth it anymore. I mean come on.

uh..so OP: basicly youre just ranting that:

1. you used to get a lot of gold
2. you get no gold now
3. you dont want to work hard to get your gold
4. you dont seem to get the point of the game

I'm probaby considered a big-time farmer. I work hard to get my gold. I would NEVER even consider buying gold off of Ebay or for real world money because that is just a waste.

I'm reeling in decent money farming greens and farming chests. I'm also happy with farming areas such as arborstone for all of it's white items (aka A TON of materials). Really, I don't see what you're getting at.

Farming still exists. Infact, it thrives. Maybe in not the same way it has been in the past, but this is the future. Adapt and deal with it.

Uh... ok... I usually make 1k~ from a troll farming run, which takes maybe, counting brief idles, selling time, runing throught forge, 5 mins?

That's assuming no rare drops whatsoever.. 12k~ hour? As mesmer, monk and warrior are faster.

Nowadays I farm troll/avicara or chests. If anything the quality of loot has gone up, but the prices have gone down in response.

I really don't see what you are ranting about. Troll Cave farming is, was, and always will be crap money. Also, you say you used to earn 30k per NINE hours? Get real. You can easily make roughly 15k an hour, which is over 100k per nine hours. Anyway, are you sure you just haven't triggered the Anti-Farm on Trolls? Leave it a few weeks and come back. You say that this has crashed the economy in weapon mod prices, because no one can earn the money to but them now that farming is 'crap' as you put it. I personally like the lower prices. For those of us that actually know how and where to farm efficiently, it's a good thing. If you spent some more time actually looking for new, faster builds and more profitable farming spots, you would make a lot more money. Try Grawl outside Port Sledge, for instance. With a 55 I can make around 15k an hour on those guys. I don't even have the 'amazing' endgame factions farming spots (just thinking I really need to get my 55/600 and Warrior through the Factions PvE line), and i can still make decent money. Before you come up with such rubbish you should at least look around for new farming spots and try them out. Lastly, games such as GW are about fun. I farm for money, but mostly for fun. I don't see the importance of money etc, and am only getting 15k for the looks. For some of my characters (Monk for instance) I just prefer normal 1.5k armour, so I get that. You really should be more worried about having fun then making money or weapons, to be honest.

Worried about having fun? : /

Anywho, just look around the forums for something that looks cool, and try it for a week, then move on. I bought my first 15k armour just from mission drops, so imagine what farming can do

ok, here

I realise there is more new weapons and new armour, i hope you realise also. Now imagen the fact that they lowered drop amounts. Now by lower i mean the lowered the quality and quanity. Now take in mind that makes you less money unless you get a good drop. Hence there is less money flowing around and items become more rare. What i am getting at is this. Things will go up in price and the money farming rate is going down. Its supply and demand; meets less gold. Basicly if they want things to go down and people to not make money the supply should be higher than the demand. Its basic supply and demand concept. Though they went the other route and made things more rare.

It just means working harder for your gold Ati. I don't know about you, but I'm fine with that. If I have to push myself to make faster and more efficient runs then so be it. It's part of the game.

As you said, it's basicly supply/demand. That's how the GW economy works. Do you realize that the price for perfect mods and items are declining? that means needing less money to buy things. I believe it's called deflation in economics terms. It's what GW needs. Items were selling for more gold than you can hold at one time (100k). Deflation is a good thing in this case.

Ati, I have no idea what you are complaining about. I myself have found gold drops to occur quite frequently now. Ex. was doing the luxon supply run before the nerf...2-4 chest per run and avg. 2 gold drops per. within 4 hours of ff and chest runs i filled up 2.5 mules with near perfect golds. If anything farming and drops have been improved. sure farming is more difficult now which imo is great...it was to easy before. perfect weps are much more common now hence the decrease in prices for everything esp. mods. the prices would not have decresed if the drop rates were lower...if they were lower then they prices would have gone up. and the whole troll farming thing...that area has long been dead cause of the bots there. There are still many areas of prophecies where you can net at least 10k per hr. heck you can do a full prophets path hydra run in 20-25 min and make at least 6k per. find and try different places...factions has plenty of opportunities. SSakai's Sword is the obvious one. hum 2-3 swords and hour for 30k ea = 60-90k. just get creative.

That is a rather naïve statement, as people will always have needs/wants and will always go out of their way to fulfill those needs/wants. The only variable affected by farming is the price. Farming adds more money to the game world without adding more units of value. That is called inflation and all it does is drive prices of items up. If you farm you have no problem with that. If you don't farm you can't afford anything.

Farming also adds supply. That tends to drive prices back down.

Don't farm trolls they suck, i tend to get quite good drops when i farm snakes dance, i clear everything from start to finish, it takes about 2-3 hours but is well worth it you'll get bout 8k + decent drops, Tundra Giants die rather quickly and are really easy to kill and when you are done you just zone out and zome in at the top of the map and hey presto more tundra giants! can be done with W/Me riposte farmer but it will take a deal longer, is alot easier with 55hp Mo/W as Tundra giants die in 1 Shield of Judgement!

It's not dead. Find a spot that not a lot of people know about. Sell an item that you can get easily for a lot more than it's worth (greens).

I believe farming isn't dead either but just begun! When I go out to farm, I farm bosses, that is to say, I farm the killing of the bosses and not the green weapons or whatever they drop. When they do drop something good, I'm pleased... very pleased...like when Strongroot dropped Strongroot's Shelter on my second run.

I don't sell them I give them to guildies and stuff first if they don't want it then I try and sell them (haven't started yet cuz I'm too lazy and just want to look at the damn things) but... here's a good place for you to get money mate, Farming shreader's Talons tons of money there I think Shreader's talons are not so good stat wise but worth 5k? Anybody verify me on this? And farming Shreader's is fun!!!

I've done Grawl bombing runs since I've started farming. That's about 5 minutes a run, including selling. There is about 20-40 Grawl that go down. It's seriously about 8k an hour, ~500g. I've seriously never seen the farming message, most likely because world messages flood the screen when they all go down. I used to farm for 3 hours straight, 7 days a week. 21 hrs a week. It's pathetic, but I was having fun while I was becoming relatively rich.

I've stopped farming now because I'm bored. The prices use to be insanely high (Tanned Hide Squares), and I used to get about 500~ per hour or two..so you can imagine how happy that made me.

I haven't needed to farm for a week or two now because I've been to busy running high level areas, searching for elites. The reason I may go back is to get my experience up to about 2 million, so I can finish capturing all the elites.
