Default Monk/Rit = Fun?

Hey guys...

I've levelled a few 20s in Prophecies, but never a Monk. I've been reading up on M/E (earth) and M/W of course, but to be honest I don't want to do the cookie-cutter 55 Monk solo thing- I mainly want to run in groups of friends and with henchmen as a primary healer/support person (I'm tired of seeing the battles from the front lines all the time).

M/Rit looks interesting, because, in theory, I could spec primarily Healing with some tid-bits in Ritualist, in order to drop some "fire and forget" spirit DPS turrets... has anyone tried this out in the PvE game, and so was it viable? Monks don't seem to HAVE TO be all-or-nothing Healers or Smiters to be effective in PUGs or henchie groups- are they?

Also, any thoughts about taking Ritualist as the primary and Monk as the secondary? Some of the Rit armor looks pretty good, but irt's not worth losing something that gives a huge advantage to me if I play as a healer primarily...

Thanks!

Thanks!

I think mo/rt has a lot of potential, if used correctly. consider shelter in place of prot spirit perhaps? the thing with spirits though is they die quick and have insanely long recharges, unless you a: use ritual lord, an elite, and b: have rit primary, for spawning power.

No Energy Management though, so that takes away the whole use of being a Monk, so I'd say that a Rt/Mo with mainly Rt spells, and some Mo spells would be more effective.

But there's more to Monking that the usual/boring Mo/Me builds.
