1v1 with a warrior
This guy in my guild challenged me: his warrior agaisnt any of my characters. My best are my necro and my ranger. I wanted to try necro, but I need a build to use. The possibilities are:
1. SS+Insidious Parasite+Empathy- Just let m=him kill himself because he can be kind of nub like that
2. FoC Spike- Spam hexes with degen, Arcane echo FoC and then spike him
3. 55- I highly dount it will work but there's always a chance.
Any suggestions?

If you have this stuff unlocked, try:
Mesmer/*
Fast Casting: 9 (8+1)
Inspiration Magic: 11 (10+1)
Illusion Magic: 16 (12+4)
- Images of Remorse (Illusion Magic)
- Conjure Phantasm (Illusion Magic)
- Clumsiness (Illusion Magic)
- Ineptitude [Elite] (Illusion Magic)
- Spirit of Failure (Inspiration Magic)
- Distortion (Illusion Magic)
- Drain Enchantment (Inspiration Magic)
- Ether Feast (Inspiration Magic)
Make sure you keep spirit of failure on him constantly - cover it with conjure initially, in case he has smite hex. If you do, then when he misses due to distortion, you'll lose one energy, but gain 4 for the miss. Drain enchant will make life difficult if he has live vicariously / mending, and ether feast will top off your health. The other skills add in -9 degen, blind (which also gives you +4 energy per miss due to it), and some more damage.
IMO, this should work much better than necro. However, you could also try:
Necromancer/Mesmer
Curses: 16 (12+4)
Domination Magic: 11
Inspiration Magic: 6
- Spiteful Spirit [Elite] (Curses)
- Insidious Parasite (Curses)
- Reckless Haste (Curses)
- Parasitic Bond (Curses)
- Enfeebling Touch (Curses)
- Empathy (Domination Magic)
- Complicate (Domination Magic)
- Drain Enchantment (Inspiration Magic)
Just off the top of my head, not tested. Use complicate to stop healing signet, if he tries it. Enfeeling touch will ensure that you can soak up his hits, and add some damage. Reckless haste makes SS even more deadly, and parasitic helps heal and offers a cover hex for it all. Drain enchant for energy and to get rid of mending.

1v1's are pointless if you know what they're going to run..you're going to pick scissors if you know your opponents using paper.

n/rt binding chains and degen/lifesteal. that will own about ANYTHING that direct attacks. Lifesteal and degen don't count as damage so chains doesnt end.
the only thing i can think of is CoP on a wammo that would beat this but he would need alot of cover enchants to remove the stuff

Gotta have a way to actually kill him. He will have Healing Signet, after all.
I don't see any of these builds doing that except maybe the Death/Ranger one.
That said, here are some thoughts.
1. You could try lifestealing. Bring a lot of vampiric spells, plus something to stop kiting and something to stop Healing Signet. I guess that means N/Me.
2. What if he brings a hammer and pulls a knockdown chain on you? That could be ugly. Hmm. SV might protect against that.
3. The hex strategy also lets you either go Ne/Ele for slowdown, or Ne/Me as above.
4. A ranger can own a warrior -- crip shot and barbed trap.
5. He doesn't HAVE to kill your pet. That interferes with the beast/MM strategy.
6. If I were given this challenge I'd probably bring my elementalist in an Air build. Dual Attunements, Aura, Lightning Strike, Lightning Javelin, Blinding Flash, and two snares. I'd hold back Lightning Strike to shoot through his Healing Signets. Or maybe Rust instead of Lightning Strike. Maybe Ether Prodigy instead of the Attunements. Blinding Flash is the key.

There isn't, as this thread adequately proves, it would be pointless.
EDIT: Just off the top of my head...
LT/LS/Para/Ignorance/SV/Phantasm/ShadowStrike/Gaze // 16blood, 10illu, rest in dom. 2 15,-1 weapons.
18degen.... so even with mending/breeze thats 8 degen.
Spice up the degen with the life steals, kite a bit.... oh hes fallen over.

In a 1 on 1 situation:
Since you are a N/Me (or Me/N)
Have the following spells:
Cry of Frustration
Enfeeble
Insidious Parasite
Parastic Bond
Plague Touch
Price of Failure
Spirit of Failure
Sympathetic Visage
Reason:
Enfeeble - reduces (non-magical) damage by 66% (does not affect +damage)
Insidious Parasite - every attack made by target foe gives you health
Parasitic Bond - life degen -1; gives you health once its gone
Price of Failure - 25% chance to miss; each miss causes damage
Spirit of Failure - 25% chance to miss; each miss gives you energy
Sympathetic Visage - whenever you are hit by melee, all adjacent foes lose all adrenaline and 3 energy
Plague Touch - send a condition to target foe
Warriors will try to give you conditions, use adrenaline to hurt you and interupt you. Unless he's a Ranger as well, this should give you the advantage. If he's a ranger, then remove price of failure and price of failure for Conjure Phantasm and Shatter Hex. The reason is because the Ranger has an elite that will give health regen for every hex on him. So use conjure phantasm and once he uses that elite, shatter the hex. The elite is useless and the warrior takes damage. Then recast conjure phantasm and all of your other hexes.
Hope this helps.

just add plague touch to my build as you have a spare slot anyway and if his attacks do ge through 77% miss 75% evade and that attack is a condition then you can send it back

roy keane said it all but i can't help myself....
signet of midnight-blind
plague touch-blind, bleeding etc
price of failure/empathy-dps
cry of frustration-heal sig
leech sig-heal sig
phantom pain
energy burn
shatter delusions-killer
we're in lala land so no res sig.
as someone said before, a dark aura build would nuke a wammo pretty good. but for me there's nothing better thank slapping blind on the warrior and watching him remove it just to have me put it back on.
i'd use the pp/shatter combo just because you need something to take out a big chunk of life when the time came.

There are so many builds that could destroy pretty much any Warrior combo 1v1 if he decides to go melee. I wouldn't even know where to begin....

Air Magic 11
Soul Reaping 7 (6 +1)
Insidious Parasite
Blinding Flash
Enervating Charge
Price of Failure
Spiteful Spirit
- Essentially you don't need a full skillbar to watch him take himself out in a few seconds, but yeah - those 5 skills make a good anti-war combo.
