Default Fastest and most efficent Way to Unlock Skills

As many of you, I got factions and I am overwhelmed at the crapload of skills i have to unlock, both for Prophecies and Factions. Is there a fast and efficient way to unlock skills? Say i have 30% of them unlocked, how long do you all reckon it would take me to unlock the rest? And how?

Yeah, Factions is different from Prophecies with regards to skills. In Prophecies you just found every quest you could that gave a skill and did them. For factions though, I've done 2 things to unlock skills:

(1)Play through the game normally with new factions characters and my old Tyrian characters. The rate at which you get skill points from doing missions and quests is very high, and you normally earn gold at a rate fast enough to afford the 1k cost of each skill.

(2)If you're short on skill points/gold, you can find a farming location with high-level enemies that you can kill for exp and gold. (I use my ranger and go farming outside Ice Caves...great exp and gold)...or when I want to stay in cantha, I just go do a few quests that I skipped (each are worth 3k exp), or maybe go participate in an alliance battle or two (each 1k kurzick faction you earn translates to about 2k gold)

So anyway, don't get too discouraged. I really think that just playing through the game with your characters will get most of the skills unlocked for you. The developers did a pretty good job of balancing this.

I PVP to unlock elites, and farm the desert in Tyria for money and skill points to buy any non-elites from Ember Light Camp. Buy some XP scrolls, beat up on your monster of choice for a while, buy the skills you need.

This is assuming that you've already done the quests and missions, which provide many skills anyway.

1) Create a new character
2) don't commit to a 2nd profession, complete all of the quests for each 2ndary profession (you will unlock several skills in each profession)
3) hench every quest (not city mission). This will give you every drop and allows you to farm (so go wandering everywhere)
4) hench some city missions, if you can, but most of the time you need people.
5) If you have a good running character, go into Tyria and sell your running services in the desert (lots of running to cities and running Elona's Reach)
6) Farm Sorrow's Furnace, you'll get lots of green items and other Rare Materials
7) Make sure that you mark down where all of the elites are (position, city, quest, etc.) so you don't have to worry about where the elites are.

Only do farming and runs if you are short of cash. In your first time through the game, do #7, so to cut time for yourself in finding elites.

Hope this helps somewhat.

Having fought a few alliance battles, I have gained well over 5k worth of Luxon faction, but have not seen where I can get gold out of it. I have not been too far into the game, but I was wondering how the faction translates into gold. Thanks

This isn't true. The drop rate is the same for a full group of henchies as it is for a full group of players. You just don't see the 'drops' the henchies get. Gold is also divided amongst the henchmen.

You can trade faction for Jade/Amber shards and sell them. Amber is a bit more expensive than Jade ATM, and sells for ~2k. 1k faction = 1 Amber/Jade shard.

Money is not an issue for me.

Also, i do have a 55 monk, and Id gladly spend the 700k i have acquired thru my 400 something odd hours ALL in skills, if i were to unlock them all

So farming somewhere with a 55 monk is the best way, with beserker scrolls? If so, anyone have some good suggestions of where to farm? EXP, not drops :P
