A ranger's only *real* weakness is another ranger imo. However, a properly built geomancer (with kd), or a mesmer could take you out.

Ya I think mesmers/ele take the cake, blindness, I hate that, and conjure phantism, yet another thing i hate. All the other classes I can out run or criple them. I have almost never had somone out run and kill me, because I can crip shot and them stormchaser. If you are a r/me you should bring alot a hex break, very good against meses or at least for a while.
Skills for a kick ass rnager(when not fighting againstt me/e)
Crip shot
Stormchaser
Dodge(if you run alot or flag runner)
Apply Poison, a must
Dmg attack
Distracting or Savage Shot
Troll
Barbed Trap (for pre battle, I lov them, set them in the direction you will run to, when the enemy runs over that you dont need to crip shot them, or use it to dmg the enemy, but for that you must use it before battle or you are going to be interrupted)

Any other class which can strike you're attacking abilities or suck dry you're energy (so basicly mesmer and necromancer are so far worst enemies for ranger in my opinion), but honestly... that depends on build used by other player...

Crippling Shot, thats what. If they can't reach you, they can't hurt you. I would say Whirling Defences, but theres always the outside chance 1 has Wild Blow.

Lets just say, warriors have a short attention span.
If you get a warrior on you either run, so they know you're going to be a pain and find a new target or throw up an evasion stance. When i get a war on me and throw up Whirling and stand there firing at my target, i think they get the message that i don't really care or worry about them.
Ignore wars, do what you need to get them off you, thats about it.

Warriors? Lightning Reflexes is enough to stop them, and if that's not enough, add whirling, and even after that you can cast troll. (and if you really suck, just add a crippling shot). Then poison them and interrupt them every time they try to heal. If done right, you just see them standing next to you, and hear lots of swishing with no hitting.
As for my worst enemy. Today this Mesmer/Necro who was stacked only in degen, destroyed me in about 3 seconds, because nobody had shatter hex.

Really, what kind of statement is that? Any warrior that knows what he/she is doing is a threat, whirling will only stop them for so long. Do not underestimate your opponent, ever.

i've had more bad experiences fighting a necro than a mesmer. faintheartedness /sigh. i even had shadow of fear once.. /sigh
skills that decrease attack speed > ranger. i usually go interrupt ranger so it sucks when you attack 50% slower. Yes there are skills from 2nd professions that could remove/prevent hexes but you can only get off a few before another batch of them come up.

If you have a good monk on your team, or even a bad one for that matter, and you're carrying a defensive stance, warriors are no trouble at all. Even so, if you are either out of your monks range or aren't carrying a defensive stance, Throw Dirt and maybe Crippling Shot/Pin Down will get you out of any trouble. Warriors are hardly a threat to a Ranger that knows what they are doing.

As far as playable characters go, I hate to go up against another Ranger. More often than not, we have builds set up that nicely counter the other's, not to mention the ego kicks in that "You're not as good a ranger as me" and it ends p into a dogfight. Then we completely forget about the team game and look for each other in battle.
