Default need some help deciding

so i've decided to make a new char and was looking at making an ele. i already have a monk, a warrior, 2 rangers, and a necro. i tried assassin, didn't really like it, i tried a rit, it was -okay- but nothing super fun like i had on my necro. so i'm trying to decide between either Ele or Mesmer, perhaps maybe a rit but probably not.

so what do you guys think? are ele's fun to play? is it hard to get a group as an ele? does anyone have BOTH mesmer and ele and can say which one they enjoy more and why?

Ele's are great fun to play - they do high damage but can be quite versatile. Most PvE parties of 8 try to get at least 1 ele, so it's not too tough to find a group at the moment. Mesmers are better for PvP, nearly useless in PvE and no groups take them, usually.

*Raises hand* I have both Mesmer and Elly.

If you enjoy playing support, play Elementalist.
If you enjoy more offensive roles, play a Mesmer.

In PvE, I played an E/Mo, spamming Heal Party and Wards. That was a great load of fun, and I did survive Thunderhead Keep with only me as healer. Stupid PuGs...

I prefer elementalist personally. They're pretty versatile, and can play lots of roles. Plus they get huge amounts of energy, which is really nice. I've enjoyed my elementalist because I think they're one of the easiest classes to run with henchman. If you can't find a group to join, well take henchman along and it usually works pretty well.
