Teleportation is not required in PvE, at all.

Heh, I love how the discussion plunged into pvp.
Thanks for all the suggestions though. It seems to me that early on shadowstepping is as (un)necessary and effective as any other early PvE skills, and in addition its just plain fun, therefore earning a nice toasty spot on my bar.

The reason that alwayys seems to happen with this genre of skill is because its monumentally effective in one and almost completely unnecessary in the other *chuckle*
Add to that all the people who watch GvG and end up considering themselves masters of the game because of it (remind you of football fans who consistantly say what they would have done if they had that ball?) and you have a bunch of people who see the masters of the game using it so they decide it MUST be good
Regardless, I love using shadow steps too. Recall is always there on my bar just because i love teleporting

blah blah blah, every skill has its moments of monumental efficiency, vice versa. people just get so adapted to one train of thought that they fail to see the usefulness of foreign methods. lighten up folks, just a game after all.

I feel that with the limited radius of shadow stepping skills of assassins, their enemies should at least lose their target on the shadow stepped sin. Many many times, my sin did a random shadow step to flee only end up getting pummeled in a matter of seconds later (especially if I teleported from the warrior's right to his left =.= ) Versus ranged characters, teleport escapes are even worse off.

I've been using Viper's Defense and I kinda love it and hate it with a passion. Sometimes its taken me out of danger to somewhere safe, and other times to places where I really didn't want to be.
The reason why I like it, other than its posioning ability is that... well sometimes I have the tendacy to do what bad Assassins do and stay in the fight longer than I should... heat of the moment, blood lust, whatever... my bad. With Viper's Defense, I hit it as soon as I pull off my combo and continue with the fight. The next time I'm hit, I'm teleported away... (so I can't overstay my welcome >_<)... as soon as I appear, I heal and scan for my next target (or run if I'm in a bad place).
