Lightbulb The Campaigner

I've done some searching, and I've been examining a lot of different builds in PvE. Surprisingly, I have yet to see a build like mine being utilized. Yes, it is a Wammo. But it is really for a smart player that understands what it means to Tank. The build is meant only for PvE. The skillsets are for beginning of game, and end game. I have used this build successfully all throughout Prophecies.

Profession: Warrior/Monk

Name: The Campaigner

Type:
PvE

Category:
Spiker/Tank = Hatemonger

Attributes:
Healing Prayers: 6
Axe Mastery: 12 + 1 (rune)
Strength: 11 + 1 (rune) + 1 (hat)

Runes:
Minor Strength
Minor Axe mast
Major Absorption / Vigor

Weapon Set:
1) Best Axe available + Healing ankh (healing prayers)
2) Best Axe available + Shield (strength)3) LongBow or Flatbow

Skills Set

1. Power Attack / Eviscerate {Elite} (Axe Mastery)
2. Penetrating Blow / Axe Twist
3. Executioner's Strike
4. Cyclone Axe
5. Healing Breeze
6. Sprint
7. Endure Pain
8. Rebirth

(Sub in Disrupting Chop for slot 2 or 4 as needed for certain missions.)

Summary:
This build is specifically for survivability and damage dealing in PvE. It works well either Henching or in Parties. The main goal of this build is to get all of the hate from the mobs, and keep it. If you lose it, you have skills that will get it back.

When approaching a mob, you should be the first or second one in. Begin with Cyclone Axe to get all of the monsters attention. Next, focus on your target and use Power Attack (or Eviscerate) followed by Penetrating blow (or Axe Twist) or Executioner's strike to deliver a powerful spike. By this time, you should be swinging Cyclone Axe again, to keep the hate on you. If anything gets past you, and starts attacking your squishies, run up and smack them with Eviscerate or Power Attack, then run back. The other mobs will follow you, and you can keep them focused on you with Cyclone Axe.

You lighten the load on your party's healears by self-healing with Healing Breeze (also helps against degens on you), and when you get really low, use Endure pain to hold on for a while longer. By casting healing spells every once in a while, you draw more hate on yourself. If you find that the party is going down, and not much can be done, you can get out of the area with sprint.

If you are the last to survive, you can use Rebirth to res your party members. As a warrior, you can survive enemy attacks while resing when others can't. If this build is played right, you should be at the top of the aggro list, so rebirth is meant to be used out of battle. But, if the rest of the party can hold their own for a bit, you can sneak off to get back your other nuker.

If you find yourself in a situation where melee isn't an option, either use Weaponset 1 or 3. Weaponset 1 will give you an energy bonus, enabling you to help with healing. Weaponset 3 gives you a bit of ranged ability. I would reccomend finding a 10 dmg bow from pre-searing with no req. You can also use this to pull. Weaponset 2 gives you a bit more protection when everything's hitting you. You can also use 2 different axes to fit different situations (ex: 1. Firey Axe, 2. Vampyric).

For stats, as you are leveling, put as much into Axe mastery as you need for your current axe. Put a slightly larger, or equal amount into Strength, and dump the leftovers into Healing Prayers.

Notes & Concerns:
This build can dish out the damage, but that's not the main focus. You want all of the mobs to focus on you, so that the monk doesn't have to work as hard. You also need to watch out for spikes from casters. Pacifism rends you partially useless, but you can still help the party by healing. The main thing is DO NOT RUSH. Stay ahead of the monks, but don't run it. This build's job is to survive and (due to GW's high-damage dealing for Wars) dish out the pain.

Credit: Because I have yet to see this in play by anyone else, Myself. I have also never seen this build posted before. If it has been, I appologize.

Use a weapon hat, not a str hat. Boosting str that high isn't profitable, and certainly not worth using a +1str helm. Actually, in general, you would be better served by ditching almost all of that str, and running tactics instead. Heal Sig and "Watch Yourself!" are both very good tactics based skills, and there are many nice stances in the tactics line.

I've actually tried several tactics builds, and I just don't like them. The best I've seen is a mod of this build, using Charge! and Bonnetti's Defense instead of Sprint and Edure Pain, and also "To The Limit!" or "For Great Justice!". In my experience, those builds don't have the self-sustaining longevity. Plus, the strength gives you more armor penetration. In the early stages of the game, it fuels Power Attack, which is a decent spike. Also, at 12 str, Sprint lasts for 13 sec, and at 12 tactics, Charge! only lasts 10.

The reccomendation on the the armor is good advice though. I haven't had much of a chance to play with that.
