Default Why do I still feel weak...

Ok guys,

I am new to GW and have been playing about 2weeks. Anyway I chose Warr/Mo as my first character. I have leveled him up and ascended last night. However I still feel very weak in terms of character strength.

I read all these posts about people soloing etc and I cant solo anything hardly at all. I went with the axe build posted in Ettin exploitation thread and the only think I dont have is Eviscerate. I still havent done my two 15 point attrib quests because well hell I can't get to the ice cave because I keep dieing.

I have Droks armor and a decent axe and shield...but I get torn up alot. Do I have to have better gear to solo?

Please help me...

start trying around with skills like live vicaverously, flurry, cyclone axe, some adrenaline skills and an interrupting skill if you are going for low level farming.

Many builds that farm high level enemies, will use a stance, to block attacks (like bonetti's defence and gladiators defense [elite which you can capture in dragons lair])

If you are having trouble with the dragon's lair mission, try to get a group that does NOT go for skillcapturing (or you will have many leavers) and do not rush!
Pick a few stances and a way to heal yourself, so you can "Tank" the hits.

If you don't like tanking you could ofcourse go for full out damage (which you do at the moment I think if you die so often).

good luck!

Skills arent always a problem for me its usually how you use them mostly.. thats why builds are put to test and how you time your skills that u use help alto also, and liek i said above runes help alot too and depends what armor you are using as well for the ettin farming i would go with glads. and maybe 1 set of knight armor maybe gaunts.. that would help alot.

Well I dont have any runes applied yet...cant afford them. But I am using Droks Gladiator armor. I have not done the two 15 point attrib quests yet because like I said I cant even get to Vanyi's sister.

I have tried some different tactices but as I said I was using the exact Axe build posted in Ettin exploitation thread minus eviscerate...I substituted Dismember for that.

Thanks for any advice.

in general, it's not a good idea to use a farming build for general questing/missions. for one, you are in the southern shiverpeaks. the same build that can withstand ettins might not be able to survive against other enemies. why? because you are facing different foes with different skills.

You can't afford Runes? Even Minor for 100 gold? You hit level 20 in two weeks? You must have a lot of time on your hands. Did you just rush through the game? All the Quests/Missions to the desert? Surely you made some money by now.
As level 20 W/Mo you should be able to easily go out and take care of the Ettins. If you did Dragon's Lair you should have skill capped Gladiators Defense. You should be able to do the 15 Attribute in the desert that one will help you in "getting stronger".
Skills-
Gladiators D, Pen. blow or Dismember, Executioners strike, cyclone, bonnetis, vig. spirit., live vicarously, mending.
You can try to find a decent tact shield. even the Carapace shield that's only 12 armor with -2 (ench.), +45 health(ench) from the Jungle collector for 5 Ancient Eyes will do the trick. Since you will be enchanted. I'd also get the collector axe from the desert for 5 encrusted lodestones or craft it in droks...since you are low on funds I'd suggest the collector.
Running high Tact. will help your Glad D and Bonnetis, which will recharge your energy. Then boost up that axe attack, at least 8 in healing and spare points in strength. you should be good.
DO the desert 15 Attribute quest!!! you can do it with henchies and it will help you. Get the right Equipment-it really does go a long way.

Yes, even minor vigor and major absurb. can help you alot! and shiver peaks is alot harder than ettins hard monsters, more hexes.. stronger monsters.. no one can solo the shiverpeak 15 attrb. quest...

dont know if you know or someone already told you, but you can consider to use a piece of knight armor, like shoes to reduce dam. globally.

Also, ability comes with experience. The more you know and familiarize yourself with a build, the better you become with it. I was horrible with my 55 necro at first, but once i got use to it, farming became no problem...unless it was in UW, i still cant get UW,

Dude ok i mean runes are nice and all woohoo enough said. but i only use one or two runes and none are vigor and abs. i use sup strength and sup tact and if i am in a fix ill use this build i was soloing griffs with this at lvl 15 and if u have only been playiong for 2 weeks i hope u did all miss and quests

Riposte
DeadlyRiposte
Bonettis Defense
Healing hands(or glad D either will work)
Healing breeze
Vig spirit
Sheild stance
mending(if no healing hands)

so easy to farm with u just need timing and if u still feel weak at lvl 20 for a morale booster go back to like Gates of kryta and elonas and solo it its not difficult i mean at 20 u should be kick butt
