Great skill against anyone who recieves lots of healing. Watch as monks' healing touch become much less effective.

does this spell "exploit" the corpse of the person that died? Or can you summon another zombie from the corpse also?

In the past, you could use this skill to get 2 bone horrors out of 1 person's death [Verata's Gaze to take control of the masterless bone horror];
However, since the release of the game, it's been changed to auto-exploit the person's corpse, causing it to no longer be useable.

So, no, you can't, unfortunately.

i dont get why everyone loves this. if the guy dies, a zombie comes and kills the first thing it sees. its only good if you have barely any death magic, but even then, why not just use defile flesh?

Corpse denial. If the enemy is using corpse-exploiting skills, Malign Intervention ensures that you get to the corpse before they do.

You can also use it in conjunction with Verata's Gaze or Verata's Aura to grab the stray horror, if you like.
