Default The (burn) firestarter

This build is a R/E, this build uses the skill mark of rodgort, kindle arrows and ignite arows to keep the enemy on fire for a very long time. You can also use some other random skills you'd like to throw in the build.

Most important skills

Mark of rodgort
Kindle arrows
Ignite arrows

Others

lightning reflexes- you attack 33% faster, thats a good thing
dual shot- 2 more arrows means more fire damage and piercing damage, the more the marier

?????Skills

Greater conflagration- When it said "physical damage becomes fire damage" I didn't know if piercing damage counts.

I saw a build like this a while back. I heard it worked well. You should try using greater conflag. And yes, piercing damage is physical damage. Just like slashing, blunt, and all those other kinds. Yes it's elite, but then all your teammates attacks would be fire damage too, dealing more damage and burning. My suggestion would be to try and find some way to be able to cover the hex. Eles aren't good for hexes. Maybe a teammate?

How about a fiery bow, conjure flame and ignite or kindle, skipping the 2nd prep? Damage is then: Arrow + ignite + conjure flame damage + burning. Even regular bow shots then trigger Rodgort's burning.

Note that you will pay the full cost of Rodgort's, spells are not reduced by expertise. A ranger with druids has 33 energy I believe and you just burned 25/33 on a single spell.

I personally would have to go with the Greater Conflag. The fact that your entire team would be inflicting fire damage is pretty tempting...

greater conflag makes everyone do fire damage mind you.

Also, this sounds horrendously energy intensive, how would you cast mark of rodgort consistently? 25 mana ever 18 seconds (at the most) is a tough thing to make with a ranger, especially if you are using other skills. Maybe a E/R would work better? Sure it would be a sacrifice in armor, but if you have pyromancer's armor and greater conlag, im sure it would make up for it.

Yes I know GC makes everyone do fire damage. But not everyone will have Mark of Rodgort on them. Besides, just get some armor vs. fire. Drakescale is it?

What's the point of everyone doing fire damage? If you put the hex on a critter you will be hitting it and setting it on fire and then hitting it again to keep it burning - multiple people hitting it won't make it burn any faster.

Of course in areas like the Shiverpeaks GC would make sense.

Yeah I slapped my forehead when that realization came to me about 30 seconds after I posted it. Maybe GC would be better with a team build. (For example a E/Me with Arcane and Rodgort's, a ranger with the a similar build as that up above.Inflict massive burning all around... could work.)

Glyph of Lesser Energy could be an idea.
