Default Class Difficulty levels

From easiest to play to hardest to play I'd rank the classes like this:

Warrior:
The easiest by far since all that is required is your basic attacks and stances. Any difficulties come from timing and adrenaline management etc. but overall quite straight forward. Also it's very newbie friendly due to the high armor and straightforward skills.

Ranger:
The good thing about rangers is that energy management isn't much of an issue. Very easy to use, just point and click. However chaining attacks and damage multipliers is a must for expert level and beast masters and trappers also take a considerable amount of skill.

Monk:
Still very straightforward. Easy for beginners to pick up however those who are extremely skilled at monk are also extremely effective. The only challenges are timing, energy management and smiting.

Elementalist:
Although beginners may find this class easy to play, the fact is that it takes real skill to actually become effective with this class. The beginners may do little damage and spend lots of mana however the pros can turn this class into a devastating offensive weapon. Not very beginner friendly due to lack of self heals.

Necromancer:
A very none-noobie friendly build as it relies on both good mana management, combo'ing hexes for measured effect as well as good knowledge of the workings of spells and hexes. In the right hands it can be a hugely powerful weapon but in the wrong hands it could be little more than a minor annoyance.

Mesmer:
By far the most difficult class to play. None of its damage is dealt directly and almost all are dealt with special conditions. It takes a well seasoned veteran to become an effective mesmer since this class requires the player to have a good understanding about spells, hexes, conditions, energy management, combos and be able to read the tide of battle naturally. The extreme lack of armor makes this very unfriendly to beginners and becomes nothing more than a free kill for them. However to a skilled player this class represents the most dangerous threat of all.

Well thats how I see it. I've played this game since it was in the beta stages and been through all the phases. Currently I only play Mesmer, Necro and occasionally Monk due to PvP requirements.
