Max smiting, no attributes anywhere else + scourge healing.
A lot of healing spells, and perhaps a smite or 2 to get the healing started

The only skills you need are retribution.holy wrath and healing breeze don't use breeze just have it on your bar.You want points in all attributes but more in smiting and devine. The trick is before you step on to the last rock cast retribution and holy wrath on yourself and then step on it.when you get into the chamber were your doppleganger is target and hit spacebar. Those are the only skills you need.
Yes it is possible and don't use scourage healing or it will be used on you.

All 3 ascension missions are runnable.
Elona's the easy one, thirsty needs a minion master, and while i haven't seen thirsty soloed, it can easily be handled by 2-3 people, thus leaving a few spots for runee's

I assume you mean you haven't seen "dunes" soloed, but as I have, I can tell you it's quite easy for a warrior to do it with a couple henchies. The LBS guys do it, and I have a couple other friends who have run it for me in the past. (I can actually run the mission myself at lvl 5 with henchies, except if you die once you're screwed, because 9/10 times the Ghostly Hero gets bugged and thinks you're still fighting a group, and won't continue on.
WHY WONT ANET FIX THAT BUG??
To stay on topic: if you can't beat your doppel at ANY level, take a low hp build (should be able to get to <20 hp) and use prot spirit and watchful spirit. your smiting skills (or whatever your other class is) will out damage your doppels watchful spirit, and you'll be at full health forever. you will probably want essense bond or balths spirit as well, for energy.

I've heard of mesmers ascending at really low levels, using Empathy and dodging the doppler's arrows until he died.

I beat mine at lvl6 with prot spirit and sac spell. But was a necro secondary.
Try something with port spirit, that the only way to live from his 60-80dam hit.

healing breeze ftw!!!! here's my DG guide. Not sure how good it'll be at lvl 11 since ur points arent as high. forgive the nooby language, i have some beginner members in my guild. this is straight from our site.
*While still in Augury Rock, make sure that your attribute points are maxed evenly between healing and smiting. Put the remaining points in Divine Favor.
*Cast Mending and Retribution before entering the arena. These are enchantments that will stay on you throughout the match and will result in a total of -2 mana regen. It's a good idea to wait until you have full energy back before you enter the arena also.
Mending is a constant health regen enchantment and Retributio is an enchantment that deals back 33% of the "wanding" damage from the DG to the DG.
*When you enter the arena, cast Zealot's Fire. For 60 seconds whenever you cast a spell to heal yourself, the DG will take damage. Most likely if your gonna kill the DG, it will be within this 60 second time frame. This adds some umph to when you cast healing breeze.
*Now cast your smiting damage spell. I recommend Smite. The DG takes dmg in addition to damage when casting. The DG will cast this on you also. Healing Breeze FTW!! The DG cant cast this. They dont get any use out of this spell.
*Cast Healing Breeze whenever you need some extra regen.
*There is no one certain way to ascend any profession. This is simply a guaranteed way to kill your DG and get the 50 sec bonus. Feel free to experiment with the skills and post any variations you come up with.
Skills: Mending, Retribution, Zealot's Fire, Smite, Healing Breeze

I did it the other day as a Mo/Me at level 8:
Skills -
Healing Breeze
Retribution
Physical Resistance
Attributes -
Inspiration Magic - 3
Healing Prayers - 6 + 3
Smiting Prayers - 3 + 1 + 1
Armor/Equipment (all from Droknar's forge) -
Zealot's Scalp Design (smiting +1)
Ascetic's Chest Design
Wanderer's Handwraps
Monk's Pants
Ascetic's Foot Design
Healing Ankh
Runes -
Superior Healing and Vigor, Minor Smiting
All you need to do is cast Healing Breeze and Physical Resistance when you go in, then Retribution. Spam HB and PR as needed, but watch your energy so you have enough for both when they both end around the same time. If you have to choose between PR and HB due to low energy, go with HB.
