Default Water + ?

Hi !

I recently created a Watter Elementalist, and it's wonderful. But I wondered if there was any nice combos to do with other attributes, such as Energy Storage : 10, Watter Magic : 11 and XXX : 10 (add runes).

Do you have any idea ?

Thank you for having read this.

Water and Earth can make quite a good utility build, using wards and snares.

My Water Elementalist use Water hex + Smite! (Water 15, Energy 11, Smite 10)

Try snare your enemies, then cast Bal-Aura on your Warrior ally or henchemen, then use Water Trident elite if your enemy target try to flee away. This work very nicely! Both PVE and PVP!

And I agree with the Feast of Corruption and Soul Barb combo! I was gonna suggest that too :P!

Another combo = Water + Earth build. You use both Armor of Mist + Armor of Earth, you will have good defense + balance speed *one incrase while another decrease ur speed* Then fun time begin, use Frozen Burst first to snare your enemies ( also the strongest Water magic dmg spell) then use Crystal Wave + Aftershock. (although aftershock deal more dmg if ur target is knockdown) *watch out ur armor enchantment timing, don't use this build if there are a lot of necro or mesmer foe stripping enchantments*

Since WaterEle/Curse Necro all cast hexes then they do combine powerfully together with the Soul barbs

But a WaterEle/SwordWar could also be interesting as a hydromancer

My Battle Hydromancer:

Water Head piece + 4 (+3majorrune+1f.headpiece)
Pyromancer's chest piece (Rune of Superior vigor)
Pyromancer's gloves (minor rune of air)
Pyromancher's pants
Pyromancer's boots (Minor rune of energy storage)

Water 11
Air 9
Swordsmanship 8
Energy storage8
Strength 1

Skills (edited 08/02/06):
Resurection signet, Blinding flash, Armor of Mist*, Ice Prison, Water Trident(E)*, Water Attunement, Sever Artery, Gash

*Armor of mist replaced Windborn speed
*Water trident(E) replaced Ice spear

Why?

Water Trident and Ice spear cost the same and deal the same amount of damage, only 1 second casting time differenciates Water trident from Ice spear and the former is by far superior with it's ability to knock down.

Although Windborn speed can be potentially cast on any member of your team. The duration of Armor of Mist is much longer and you also gain an armor bonus. All-in-all a better choice considering the majority of you attribute points are in Water magic and you won't be consciously trying to cast Windborn speed on other players.
_______________________________________________
I find this build agravates Warriors (especially those unprepaired to be out-meaneuvered from melee by an Elementalist)

Casting Water attunement at the start of a battle and Armor of mist just before closing in melee assures you energy retrieval and extra armor (as well as maneuverability).

Blinding flash spares you damage for a few seconds while you cause bleeding and wounding to a poor unsuspecting fellow.

Ice Prison and/or Water trident are used to hamper and prevent warriors from reaching you to quickly or before you can apply blinding flash. It's also great at stopping ranged or spellcasting players from running away from *you*.

My Battle Hydromancer:

Colored Blue-Jade green:
Pyromancer's chest piece (Rune of Superior vigor)
Pyromancer's gloves (minor rune of air)
Pyromancher's pants
Pyromancer's boots (Minor rune of energy storage)

Water 11
Air 9
Swordsmanship 8

Strength 1

Skills:
Resurection signet or Glimering mark(E), Blinding flash, Windborn speed
Ice Prison, Ice Spear, Water Attunement, Sever Artery, Gash
Looks like fun I'll give it a try but I may end up with:

Resurection signet
Blinding flash
Windborn speed
Ice Prison
Ice Spear
Water Attunement
Eviscerate
Executioners Strike

...unless, having run the build, you can think of a good reason not to. Doesn't Glimmering Mark only activate when they are hit by lightning damage? I guess you could use a hilt....

Water is a fantastic element. Just stay away from anything expesive. This is what I use.

Water Attune
Ice Spear
Water Trident
Blurred Vision
Ice Prison
Armor Of Mist
Healing Breeze
Vengance.

It works for me

Hey Kawaii Bat, that build would be awesome if 2 elites were alowed on your skill bar at one time.

Having absolutely no idea what you mean by that.

I can only assume you did not *truly* read my post (that I have now edited)

I had said: If you don't take Glimmering mark(E) replace Ice spear with Water Trident(E). I all together ditched Glimmering mark and just permanently replaced Ice spear with Water Trident in my new build.

But yes... any build would be awesome if 2 elites where allowed.

Another possibilty to consider is using Spinal Shivers, from the Necromancer's Curses line. Since all Water Spells deal cold damage, they will interrupt your target's action everytime your spells hit while they are using a skill.

If you used this in conjunction with Rust, you could devastate people who use Signets frequently. (Like Warriors with Healing Signet, people with Ressurection Signet, Monks with Blessed Signet, etc.)

Even without Rust, though, it is still very effective - I tried a build using Water Spells and Spinal Shivers out in PvP with Ether Prodigy as energy management, and it works great!
