Default R/N Barrager of Pain

I'm sure this build has been done before, but it's something I just recently discovered on my own playing with necro skills (class i know the least about). This IS a PVE build, its not really geared torwards PvP cause people don't neccesarily bunch up (cept for IWAYer's). Anyway without further ado....

Attributes:

Haven't had a chance to play too much with attributes, but I'll edit in something here soon.

Curse: xx
Marksmanship: xx
Expertise: xx

Equipment

Now for Barraging I personally like the short bow, but Long Bows are growing on me cause enemies are less like to aggro on you. Any bow would work fine as well (in fact someone was arguing the other day that Horn bows would work well with barrage, cause refire rate was irrelevant)

Skills :

1) Mark of Pain
2) Barrage
3) Dual shot
8) Rez sig

Those are the only four essential to the build, You could bring favorable Winds to up damage output. You could drop some points into WS for Troll. I'd personally bring an interrupt or two and a stance (whirling defense). Past that its your playground!

General idea behind this build is to deal massive damage to mobs. Mark of Pain (with about 10 in curses) deals 30 damage to foes adjacent to your target everytime your target is hit with physical damage.
So lets say you have your target hexed and you fire of a barrage. Adjacent foes take damage from barrage + damage from Mark of Pain (nice huh?). Other nifty thing, is when you use dual shot. Its like a bomb. You hit the target with two physical attacks...adjacent foes take 60 damage each...just like that. I was excited when I was playing around with it tonight, but I honestly haven't done much testing with it. But I'll post anything I find as I find it!

And remember this is meant as a PvE build, and I'm in NO WAY suggesting its use in PvP. That said, input away!

Enemies tend to scatter when they are hit by mark of pain AOE dmg.

That's exactly what you shouldn't want when using barrage.

The damage, however, is nice.

Which is what I found out earlier in the field tests.... Freak I should have thought of that. But it was great in theory right? I'll test on something other than imovable suits of armor next time.

depends on how many people you get mark of pain on before using barrarge. in theory this should be like echo ss with each hit on each person dealing the dmg to others. not AS effective and not AS spammable but could work for shock dmg.

Well as long as you don't spam the Mark damage (which rules out Barrage) they won't run away. It's kinda like Zealots fire, where as long as you don't cast too many monk spells to quickly they won't run away. I'd take out Barrage, then cast mark of pain on your primary target, then hit it with dual shot, then tab over to another baddy and hit it with an attack before tabbing back to hit it with Dual shot again. As long as your Dual Shot/Mark bomb's are too close together, it's still a workable build. But Barrage is definately not the thing.

Yep. AoE scatter is VERY annoying in a barrage team.
