Post your farming builds here.
Well I restarted my chars. and I love to farm Items way back when I used to play Diablo II I would run Hell Mephisto like 100 times a day (no I didnt BOT him) with my blizzy sorc, I had a blast! But I am fairly new to the game so I want a stable build that would well solo the main spots that I have heard about Drakes//Zealot's//Scarab's and so forth I dont want to be a steriotypical support char. since trying to be anything beside a heal/protect monk will get you cussed out or worse. I am looking for a build that has the abilitie to solo the farming spots, the mo/wa movie I saw was very impressive but trying to do missions is nye impossible due to the fact I found out that no one wants a self healer/protector tank monk that uses smites as his/her dmg output. So any suggestions on builds/skills/armor layout would be very very appreciated!

Just because the monk in the video had skills to solo does not mean he can't switch them around and go join a group and be the main healer.

lol Hellsent do I really need to post my build, if people don't know it by now /boggle
oh well,
E/Mo
12+3 smiting
10 healing
8+1 energy storage
And as the post mentioned above, I have every good skill for every secondary, and every elementalist spell but 3. There's nothing keeping me from switching to whatever I want whenever I need to. Seeing as one farm run and you're full respec points again lol.

Hmm anyone know of any other good tested farming builds? That aren't ridiculed if they are not healing/protecting people I have run into too many idiots that do not want to group with my mo/wa due to me not healing them since I am the one tanking, I try to explain to them that monks dont have to be healers and they just go on and on and on................... But yeah I want a sturdy farming build that can solo the most popular farming spots and is not expected to be the main blah blah blah... Thanks in advance to those who post.

Solo Farm Drakes
I have had to show alot of people how to solo farm drakes. Much easier to take somebody through it then to explain but ill give it a shot. Tried making a video with Fraps but it was a huge file so ill try to explain it.
This is the old setup I used but its probably best if you dont have the best gear. Also I will assume you are using sword/shield setup since its most common. If you want to use hammer or axe then just adjust it some.
This setup does ok damage but its mainly made to keep you alive.
Gear
Armor: Whatever you like with a +1 Swordsmanship Helm
Shield: tactic requirement Armor:16, -3 damage (while in stance), +45 health (while above 50% health) is the ultimate to shoot for.
Long Bow or Flat Bow for pulling.
Runes
Minor Swordsmanship
Minor Strength (Gives +1% Armor Penetration if you want it)
Minor Tactics
Superior Vigor
Superior Absorbtion
Attributes
10 Healing Prayers
10 Tactics (11 After Rune)
09 Swordsmanship (11 After Rune + Helm)
07 Smiting Prayers
01 Strength (gives another +1% Armor Penetration if you want it)
01 Dead Point
Skills
Sprint
Sever
Final Thrust
Shield Stance
Healing Signet
Healing Breeze
Healing Hands (Elite)
Judge's Insight
Skill Setup Explained
I don't use healing signet unless I am in Shield Stance. With your tactics level you can get off Healing Signet, Healing Breeze and another Healing Signet while in Shield Stance. Healing Signet and Shield stance work well together since when using Healing Signet you take double damage and the stance gives you 75% chance to block incoming attacks for only 5 energy. The -3 Damage taken while in a stance works nice with shield stance/healing signet combo since its a stance.
So Shield Stance, Healing Signet, Healing Breeze, Healing Signet = Alot of life for 10 energy total. VERY good to use when you are close to death.
Healing Hands is ment to give you health as you get hit... So it would be a waste of mana to use it while in shield stance since you wont get hit that much.
Judge's Insight isnt needed but its a big help when your killing the undead on the way to drakes. Since they take ALOT of damage from holy damage. Use it when your health is almost full for some quick killing.
The rest of the skills are obvious.
The Strat!
Ok the best place to solo drakes is in the Mission you get from Kryta. Once the mission starts do the following.
Start heading out of the gate just up ahead there are some villagers and a small left turn you can take. To avoid the first set of mobs take that left turn and wait for them to pass.
When they have passed and are far enough away not to get agro start heading down the path they came from.
Now you will see on your compass some mobs coming from ahead as you approach a right turn. If you look on the left corner of that turn you will see a tree and a small brown fence. If you get in the farthest part of the corner behind the fence they will walk right past you..
After the 2nd set of mobs have gone and passed you can start heading to the 3rd set.
As you are heading to the third set you will see 4 mobs and a random named. Stay far back. The named will stay there and the 4 mobs will continue walking in your direction to the small houses on the right of the path. After they get to the houses they pause for a few seconds then continue back towards the path to where the other mobs passed you. The way to bypass these is this.. before the mobs break off from the named you should stand directly across from the houses on the left of the path... When the mobs get to the houses start running to the named while staying on the wall. If you get agro from the 4 mobs dont worry just dont stop running.
Now... as you are approaching the named right before you get into his reach hit sprint and keep following the path until you lose his agro. He pulls back to his spot very quick. Just dont run into the mobs after the named yet.
Stand out of the next mobs agro range for a few until you can just agro the Zombie Warlock and Ranger. Pull and kill them. Best to kill the zombie first so he doesnt spawn bone minions from the dead ranger.
After those 2 are taken care of you will see a bridge going over the poisoned water. If you watch the pattern of the 3 mobs (1 ghoul and 2 rangers) you will notice they walk in a square pattern. You can either rush and kill them or just wait for the right moment and run far right of the bridge threw the water and get back on the path behind the bridge when able. I usually kill them for the loot. Also... Far right from the bridge down a little ways are 2 chests you can get if you dont mind the time lose in the run.
Now you should be on a hill before 4 mobs (2 mesmers, 2 rangers). If you watch them there is another set of mobs that path behind them so if you rush those first 4 you have a big chance to get the zombie and 2 ranger adds. Best suggestion is to use your bow to pull the first 4 mobs to the top of the hill and kill them there.
After you kill those 4 mobs you can head down the path a little. You will see 2 sets of mobs. First set is a Zombie and 2 Rangers and the 2nd set is the same. As you get closer (out of agro range though) one of the sets will rush the gate guards at the end of the path... let them go and kill the remaining set of mobs.
When you kill the remaining Zombie and 2 rangers look over at the gate to see if the gate guards beat the other set of mobs.. If they didnt then the Zombie and 2 rangers will have tons of bone minions standing around them if the guards won then the gate will be open. If its not open then hold left Ctrl and watch for all the bone minions to disappear since they have health degen and die after a few. When the minions are dead rush the zombie kill him and kill the remaining mobs.
The gate should now open so go talk to the quest dude...
Now as you are heading to the beach before the drakes are 8 goat dudes that take mana infront of you. You can either hit them with your bow then run them back in through the gates to let the guards try to kill them or run past them headed to the farthest end of the beach coming straight out from the gate.... as you get past all 8 hit sprint to get out of agro range... When that is complete the drakes are all yours. I recommend doing a couple group drake runs to get to know where all of the drakes and chests are and to know how the mobs work.
I hope I explained it all right since I am telling you all this off of memory. Feel free to input and improve.
Have fun

NP bud... been meaning to put it down in writing so others can do it also. I see to many lvl 20 W/Mo's in Kryta spamming for a drake group. When you figure each mob you kill gives a piece of loot then you get alot of loot and will never want to group it again.
Also... There is a zealot guide floating around out there somewhere. Did the Zealot run a couple times all with success but its my opinion that the amount of loot from drakes is far better then the quality of the zealot loots.

I prefer to farm 4 wreckages that I know all spawn close together so my build would be...
Sprint
Enduring Pain.

Ive noticed in the few (2) farming video's ive watched that you need a spell/skill that would do continuous dmg around you, so for a warrior I was thinking going axe/tactics/healing using all of the skills you have but replacing some with axe attacks such as cyclone axe and the reason im choosing axe is because hundred blades is elite and cyclone is not allowing me to use healing hands as my elite skill. I will post my wa/mo farming build to see waht you think of it warlord.

Sounds good cant wait to see it.
Where are the 4 wreckages? I remember seeing some in Pred Rock but thats all. My memory is terrible unless i do something 100+ times so i cant even remember 90% of the missions.

wait a sec... do Drakes drop runes? (purple or gold armour)? (i recall that they didn't when i did drakes)
If they only drop items, whats the point farming them? by the end-game, u should have plenty of max damage stuff...

get alot of blue per run along with a purple or three and every now and then a rare.
Most runes ive walked away with in 1 run is 5.
The point in farming them isnt to get yourself a better weapon but to get cash. Maybe you will get lucky and get a 15-22 sword with +15% while health is above 50%. i found a +15% while below 50%
On a side note. I used sprint and endure pain and checked out pred rock. If you let the hydra's pass stick to the right zone wall and run to the flesh golems. if you hold Alt while trying to sprint around the Isle you will run into 4 wreckage things. Also the flesh golems dont hit that hard. Only problem is the remove enchantments they do.. So if you want to solo them go for it. I got ALOT of curse weapons and gold and a 15-22 Fiery Dragon Sword in the last hour.
For fighting the flesh golems i used different attributes and skills
focused on healing prayers, smiting prayers and swordsmanship
I would have used mending but they remove enchantment so much its not worth it.
sprint
sever
endure pain
bonnetii's defense
zealots fire
healing hands
healing breeze
balthazar's aura
and have a healing anku for the energy to cast the aura instead of a shield.
Takes a little time but you get 168 exp per kill at lvl 20 and up to 120 gold. The wreckages were giving almost 200 gold per.
Just dont use your enchantments unless you have both hex's on you from the golems. I used healing hands to make them cast both then you can cast the rest.

Max damage isn't the only thing, though. Weapons have percentage damage mods that are randomised, plus most weapons have two upgrade slots, and some of the upgrades for those slots have random statistics. Finding the "perfect" weapon can be immensely difficult if you can't find an appropriate collector.

yes i know... posted this in that post.

plus you cant change the hilt in a dragon sword which i personally think it makes it the worst sword in the game. Honestly id rather have a short sword or something.
