Default The Tank Pet farming build!! the best till now!

Hi ppl,

- today i present a really impressive and u unique ranger farming build , I call it ( The Tank Pet build ) it depends on your pet ,
the pet u maybe used to think that he's useless .
the idea is to make ur pet a tank , yes a tank, by useing "Call of Protection" + "Protictive bond/Protictive spirit" + "Life bond" And using
"Balathars Spirit" for gaining energy.

The Skills:
- Barrage . ( Elite )
- Protective Bond.
- Life Bond.
- Balathars Spirit.
- Call Of Protection.
- Comfort Animal.
- Charm animal.
- Troll ugent / Heal Spring .

* I recommend using a bear cuz he's defensive as i read in a ranger guide.

- Atiirtube points :
12 Beast misary .
about 9 Protection Prayers.
12 Marksmanship . ( 8 + 4 ) (runes).

it doesn't matter to apply this points exactly , just keep the three high.

and here's how it works :

First use "Call of protection" rechrge then " Lifebond" recharge then " Protective bond" on ur pet , finaly cast "Balathars spirit" on your self not the pet
Go to the enemey groups " Troll mountains" for example , Use a Long Bow to lure them and let the pet attack , they may follow u not the pet so
run around till they all attack the pet, with the enchatments used on the pet he won't get damage , only small amounts , 4-5-3-2 ,
Now ur free to attack,
Start attack with Barrage till they die . use troll ugent + comfort animal to heal yourself and ur pet ,

* this build works on Troll mountains + Desert Grifftons + Monitors .

- I'll leave u with screen shots:

Hey that's a cool way to cluster them up for barrage! Judge's Insight could boost your damage a little if you can squeeze it in.

i assume (or hope atleast) that ur using a Zealous bow string to maintain energy

and... actually... the bear is the worst pet in the game (it's *fake* brutal mauling atk slows down it's atk speed) and u'll also want ur pet to be of the Hearty type for the +60HP

other then that the build does look pretty decent i guess

Oh yes! The Ranger Pet Farming Build

The one that I use, uses all ranger skills and nothing else. It takes a while for me to take them down though...

I'm sure your build is faster than mine. Great job .

And yes, a zealous bowstring would be perfect here.

someone explain this to me? i thought that the prefixes to pet names was based on level.

hes not using zealous cuz hes maintaining 3 enchantments already and it looks like he lets prot bond run until it cancels itself out and then regens energy.

It partly is, but it is also based on the play style of its master while it is leveling up. For detailed information check out A guide to pets, by Jenosavel and Epinephrine and look for stuff concerning pet evolutions.

Also, Valerius was dead on concerning the bear being the worst pet and the Hearty being the best evolution for this build.

I would switch Life Bond for Judge's Insight and take some points off marks and add to smiting. Don't need life bond, just keep using troll unguent or reviving your pet when it dies. Otherwise this seems really good Will check it out asap

i would rather to keep life bond cuz it keeps the pet alive and i don't take lot of damage from it. actually i charmed a bear cuz it looks dangerous , life bond gives you lot of 0 damages and when you mix with balathars spirit you'll gain energy like hell, (any damage you recieve you get energy and adrenaline) so life bond is a major thing in this build. i'll try the build with z bow+judges :-)

I Made a farming build before based on traps and spreading blind condition using epidemic and throw dirt. it does huge damage but then i always fail and die because when i use flame trap and dust trap foes run and mess everything :-( (update that prevent farming)

I dont think that protective bond is doing much, a lvl 20 pet has 80AL and with at least 400 life and call of protection most things wont be doing enough damage to even make that 5% very effective, protective bond should be more than ehough, other than that it looks pretty good.

I had a guildie show me a similar build the other day, and I thought I was doing a ton more damage than him using Poison Arrow. DoT does wonders... but then again he was terrified to aggro more than a couple enemies at a time so Barrage was hitting maybe 2-3 tops.

Anyway I'm tempted to switch over to Monk secondary and drop a few plat on skills to try this out until my Warrior grows up a bit more... he's only a teenager at 15 but can (even without a -2 shield) tank almost anything, he just has no way of doing any damage if he does

IIRC I had 12 Beast Mastery, 10 Expertise, 10 Wilderness Survial and 9 Marksmanship. Obviously none of my Mesmer skills were looking terribly useful so I could spread the lovin to all 4 attributes well. Worked okay, but I can definitely see Monk secondary > Mesmer in this case

Tried it works quite nicely, what I would do is, switch to a Zealous Bow when using Barrage, once used switch back to your regular bow.

i'm happy to hear that

the Zalot bow works great + the energy u'll get with balathars spirit.
i figuret out that protective bond is useless,
replace it with storm chaser to run fast away from enemies when the pet attacks for a better result.
or fav winds to do more damage.

try the build with a ranger ally. u take storm chaser instead of protictive bond.
and he takes fav winds + barrage + healing spring to heal u+ storm chaser . and maybe some pet calls. It'll be funner and faster

regards

I tried this build out as well. It worked pretty well. The only issues I had was with those pesky scorpions believe it or not. It was near impossible for them to stay locked on to my pet. I also adjusted the attribute points so I could replace protective bond with mending. This worked great. Pet rarely had any health issues and I never had any energy issues with BA running. I was a little nervous with no energy regen, but again, it worked great. My build went something like this....(these are approximates)

11 BM
11 Marks
9 Protection
8 Healing (To get +3 regen on pet)
4 Wilderness (To get +5 regen)

I realize the points are spread a little thin, but this is the best combo that worked for me. I am also going to try replacing Troll with Dwyana's Kiss and see how that works. I think i will work well with all of the enchantments used. Thanks for posting this and giving me something to play with. I am now motivated to finish leveling my pet!

Sorry for my english
For pet-solo build you can use smiting. Its build against trolls/griifons/minotaurs or something like that. At the beginning cast bond and call of prot on pet and balth's spirit on you. Using any long bow send pet to monsters. Change weapon to sword with enchant mod and use ZF and shield on pet. You should spam:
1. PS
2. In half of PS recharge use RoF
3. PS when ready
and repeat.
or if you are using mend spam:
1.RoF
2.MA
and repeat
If you have good timing monsters wont escape.

Perfect inventory:
1st weapon set: HoD Sword with 20% enchant mod and Wroth's Icon
2nd set: Any longbow

Attributes:
Beast Mastery: 10 + 3 + 1
Smiting Prayers: 11
Protection Prayers: 10
Marksmanship: 1 + 1

Skills:
Reversal of Fortune
Protective Spirit/Mend Ailment
Zealot's Fire
Shield of Judgement
Call of Protection
Life Bond
Balthazar's Spirit
Charm Animal

i hope it will help

Smiting Prayers: 12
Protection Prayers: 10

- Guardian (Protection Prayers)
- Orison of Healing (Healing Prayers) *Could replace with healing breeze, but more energy usage*
