The Burning Blade
Name: Burning Blade
Type: PvP (CA)
Category: Direct and degen Damage
Attributes:
Swordsmanship 10+3+1 (14)
Tactics 11+1 (12)
Fire Magic 10 (10)
Skill Set:
1. Sever Artery
2. Gash
3. Galrath Slash
4. Hamstring
5. Mark of Rodgort
6. Victory is Mine [E]
7. Heal sig/Conjure Flame/Pure Strike
8. Res Sig
Equipment: FDS (optional any Sword with Fire Hilt will do but I will be dissapointed) and a Tactics Shield
The FDS has a reputation as a noob sword so I decided to run this build in CA to try to help shake off this image (if its good enough for a Prince its good enough for me).
Gladiator armour is a must
Summary:
Another build with fire involved, im starting to get concerned with my fixation.
Anyway that said this is fairly easy to run with. First get a hamstring going on your target to ensure they wont run for the next bit.
Next Layeth a Mark of Rodgort on them and use your attack skills as they charge. This will provide a nice -10 degen once bleeding is applied, couple this with decent damage from your attacks and deep wound you should be putting out some good overall damage.
Ok thats the damage side of things now for the energy management and healing which efficiently dealt with by VIM. At your peak (4 conditions applied) VIM will net you about 224 health and 15 energy, plenty of energy to reapply the costly Mark of Rodgort when needed.
On a side note I am liking VIM more and more as an Elite for using with a sword.
Slot 7 if a free slot which I have tried many skills there. Last evening I used Healsig for mega Healing. It paid off more than once as our Random team went 16 wins with no monk. The most memorable match for me was when I was the last man standing verses a half health Air Ele and a full Hp Wammo.
I managed to despatch the ele quickly while the Wammo was digging her axe in my back. Once it went to one on one VIM was the big difference. Where as she had to stop to heal using Sig I was laying more damage and stacking conditions. In the end Mark of R came out and it was all over.
Pros:
Fun
Easy to use
Great degen and direct damage from attacks
Good Healing/survivability
Cons:
Hex removal on Mark
Blinded/evasion during Marks duration
Condition removal
^^ Therefore not the best verses prot monks
Winter is bad
DP is bad no cast of Mark unless you switch to a focus

You do have to wait, but with a zealous sword its not that much of a problem. I had fun "pwning" noobs with no hex removal lol. In random. ViM is also not used unless you are low on health. Thats the point.

I run a similiar build sometimes, too. Though mine never has energy problems.

I just tried this build out in Random Arena, and i gotta say i really like it. Obviously its extremely energy heavy, but it does extreme damage. Started out in Random Arenas, and we ran off 18 wins in a row. It helped to have a balanced team with a super monk and mesmer though.
I was using the collector fire offhand from the desert to jack my energy up to 37. I was starting off with a hamstring and rodgorts combo, which uses 35 energy at the start. Then threw in a sever and gash, then used VIM to get back health and mana.
Overall, a very nice build and relatively easy to use. Thanks again.

And what build is this?
I like the idea a lot, I've seen it a bunch of places, particularly in the ranger board, but I think it would work best on a warrior, if it can effectively manage its energy.

^^ yes plz tell.
I was thinking about Warriors endurance to regain lots of energy but for that you would need points in strength which weakens the build ironically.
Maybe you can use a Glyph to lower the energy cost (Glyph of lesser energy). Not sure how that would work I will try it out.

ummm glyph cost 10 energy and it takes 60 secs to recharge I dont think that would be a good idea. Nice build tough ill try it and for the energy ill try to find a way to manage it

Reminds me of the build in the guides here, quite hot, though I don't like the MUST HAVE GLADIATOR ARMOR mentality of it... Still, there's an axe variation of it with less spike but a LOT of disruption... [how's this?]
Dismember
Axe Rake
Axe Twist
Victory is Mine! {E}
Sprint
Mark of Rodgort
Conjure Flame
Res Signet
bah ^_^ deepwound + cripple + weakness + on fire = good times? ^_^
