Thumbs up Dominating "Jack-of-all-Trades" Mesmer

Well, first of all i am still relatively new to Mesmers. I have used them plenty for secondary classes. However, my mesmer primary is only a month old. Lately, i been running around in PvE with this build and i LOVE it. I can interrupt, deal with hexes on party members, deal descent damage, and have good energy management. I have a few questions, but here is the build first::

Profession: Mesmer/X
Name: Jack of all Trades Domination
Type: PvE....More?
Category: Everything. Support.
Attributes:
Fast Casting:: 10 [9+1]
Domination:: 14 [12+1+1] (can go to 16 of course)
Inspiration:: 10 [9+1]
Illusion:: +1

Skills Set:
Cry of Frustration - Spell
If target foe is using a skill, that foe and nearby foes are interrupted and suffer 10-37 damage. 15 1/4 20

Wastrel's Worry - Hex Spell
After 3 seconds, target foe takes 8-53 damage. Wastrel's Worry ends prematurely if that foe uses a skill. 5 1/4 1

Backfire - Hex Spell
For 10 seconds, whenever target foe casts a spell that foe takes 35-119 damage. 15 3 20

Shatter Hex - Spell
Remove a "Hex" from target ally. If a Hex is removed, foes near that ally take 30-102 damage. 15 1 10

Inspired Hex - Spell
Remove a Hex from target ally and gain 3-13 Energy. For 20 seconds, Inspired Hex is replaced by the Hex that was removed. 5 1
-OR-
Ether Feast - Spell
Target foe loses 3 Energy. You are healed 17-41 for each point of Energy lost. 5 2 8

Power Drain - Spell
If target foe is casting a spell, the spell is interrupted and you gain 1-25 Energy. 5 1/4 25

Mantra of Recall {Elite} - Enchantment Spell
For 20 seconds, you gain no benefit from Mantra of Recall. You gain 13-25 Energy when Mantra of Recall ends. 10 1 20

Resurrection Signet -OR- (if Monk secondary, Rebirth/Restore Life/Resurrect)

EXPLANATION!!
So as you can see i am pure Domination for utility purposes, yet a good amount in Inspiration to keep my Domination skills fueled and ready. Basically, I have possibly overkill on the energy management, with pre-battle Mantra of Recall and during battle Inspired Hex and Power Drain for e-regain, and with I-Hex i can spread around more chaos.

Interrupts come from Cry of Fustration (also a bit of AoE) and Power Drain. Hex Management from Inspired Hex and Shatter Hex (a BIG AoE spike).
Direct damage comes purely from Wastrells worry, which at Dom 14, i do 60 per. It is WAY spammable, and deals fairly consistent. This is my main spam skill and damage dealer.
More damage comes from high dmg Backfire, which REALLY softens up casters while we target another.
Energy Management already discussed through Power Drain, Inspired Hex and MAntra of Recall.

So overall use is based on constant target changing, caste Backfire on a caster, switch target, interrupt target, switch, Interrupt target, switch, Shatter Hex a melee party member, switch, I-hex a party member, switch, spread aquired hex around, switch --->> All the while spamming Wastrels worry on targets... this equals great overall dmg and enemy confusion!

So. Yes obvious areas not so well covered, per situation. No real self defence vs melee or any defence whatsoever. But, like the Type says, the role is support! No self heal, unless I-HEx is left out...

QUESTIONS!!
Could this work in any PvP setting? 4v4, RA, TA? 8v8, HA, GvG?
If so, what should i change to improve this build, to increase dmg, to increase flexibility, to increase survivability? ANY input appreciated, even FLAMING! Since i am new to Mesmering and all... lol.... ENJOY!

I'd substitute Mantra of Recall with Glyph of Renewal, and Inspired Hex with Shatter Enchantment. Also might want to use Power Spike instead Backfire, which is easily noticed and rarely does more than one hit of damage. (at least in PvP) The elite glyph is great: Energy problem? Renew Power Drain and find a caster. Double interrupt, 40+ enery gained. Health problems? Renew Ether Feast. Hex stacking? Renew Shatter Hex for massive aoe spike.

With maxed out domination and maxed out inspiration -1, and rest to fast casting, this build is fun to play. MoR can also be shattered/stripped/rended.

You might want to try Spirit Shackles, so people who deal melee/arrow damage cannot use their skills if they keep attacking (unless they are adrenaline): Less chance of Wastrel's Worry ending prematurely.

Well, it's a completely different build now but hey, you asked for input.

Removing Mantra of Recall only gives the benefit sooner Ideally, use drain enchant or power drain for energy maintainance intead, using a different elite to augment the rest of your build.

Most utility mesmers take advantage of a monk secondary for some fast casting love. They then use the rest of the line to supplement damage output, but kind of the opposite of what you've used:

Mesmer/Monk

Fast Casting: 10+1
Domination: 10+3+1
Inspiration: 10+1
Illusion: Whatevers left+1

Martyr [e]
Energy Burn
Power Drain
Shatter Enchantment
Holy Veil/Remove Hex
Shatter Delusions
Ressurect/Restore Life/Rebirth
Phantom Pain

This Mesmer can spike assist with pp/sd, and e-drain with energy burn/interrupt with pdrain. Shatter also gives spike assist (also stripping prot spirits) and martyr helps remove conditions from warriors etc. Youve then got some hex removal and a hard res+ fast casting...

AH. ty for teh input. ill try a few variations for PvP.
However, for PvE, this build seems to work great and have good overall crowd control... thanks for the ideas yall!

But if it's a shatter, that's 100+ unnecessary damage taken.

True, and thats never nice Turns your spell into a less-efficient OoB.

So long as you're rapidly tossing out spells... why not look into the devastating Mantra of Recovery. With a few energy maintaining skills (inspired hex, drain enchant, guilt, etc) this spell doubles the havoc you can cause, and lasts 15 seconds at 10 fastcast (enough time to spam your skillbar a few times).

Not everyone likes MoReco, but it's certainly worth a try, in PvE that is... no suggestions for PvP right now.

I just noticed you can prematurely end it with Contemplation of Purity for an energy spike. Maybe with fast recharge inspiration items you can spam it and end it with CoP.

Yes, in PvP, MoR seems dangerous. I am not too sure about Mantra of Recovery either. Yes, id be able to spam my skill bar more, but then again its draining 2x as much energy at a high rate. I think part of my concern for energy management in pvp is not having to rely on conditions to gain Energy, like I-Hex, Drain Enchantment, Power Drain, etc.

Btw, just thought of a combo for helping a spike build. Wastrals Worry + Shatter Delusions. That could get you upwards of 130 dmg spike, and the combo can be done every 10 seconds, with Wastrel spams in between. This totals a 10 energy combo.

anywhoo, i been trying rii's build in 8v8 a bit. It works to a point, but also very condition reliant. I am trying to stick to pure Mesmer, and am working with variations of my build, with modifications from suggestions here... I still like being able to have hex control, interrupts, AND descent dmg, along with good emanagement, so this mesmer is still under construction... =D
