Good smite/heal build?
I'm looking for a decent smite/heal build (possible smite/prot), and does anyone know of one of 2? I'm planning this for PvE, and have found so far a ot of the smite skills suck...
But, i need a decent damage output, while still being helpful to my team through prot or heal.
Any 2nd profession is fine.
Elite preferably smiting, but if it works with another, sure.

Here's what my monk (Mo/Me) use when playing as a healer/smiter.
Attributes are:
Healing Prayers: 12 (+1 headgear, +1 minor)
Smiting Prayers: 13 (+2 major)
All other points in Divine Favor.
The skills are:
Healing Breeze
Orison of Healing
Bane Signet
Holy Strike
Banish
Smite
Symbol of Wrath
Resurrect
If I feel that more healing skills are required, then Word of Healing/Heal Party/Dwayna's Kiss will find themselves in the skillbar. Usually replacing Holy Strike and/or Symbol of Wrath.
As I want to keep healing and smiting quite high, I don't use anything from my second profession.
For range attack, it's a combination of Bane Signet, Banish and Smite.
I wait until the tank takes aggro, and while the foe is attacking, use Smite for the additional damage and then Bane Signet to cause a knock down (never Bane Signet followed by Smite).
If I feel safe to get close, then I get to melee range and use Bane Signet to cause a knock down, followed by Holy Stike for additional damage on a knocked down foe.
Each offensive spell does 40+ damage, and catching an attacking or knocked down foe can double the damage.
Symbol of Wrath is there to scatter the mob, or used for the final kill if close enough and their health low enough, they'll die before they scatter.
Most are low cost, so it doesn't compromise my energy too much if I find that I have to switch to healing.

Hmmm I never did found much use for smiting except the early levels after you become full heal or prot your team will be doing most of the job. With the new additions to PvE mobs scattering as soon as an AoE is played, the best Smiting skills are reduced to waste: Balthazar's Aura and Zealot's Fire.

Yeah, it sucks that BA and ZF are worthless for PvE now. The best smiting skill you can bring on a hybrid heal/smite or prot/smite would be SoJ, maybe one or two of the dd spells too. Scourge Healing is useful against some type of mobs, but usually not.

Yeah, with Mantra of Resolve to thwart interruptors.
Sadly, you need to dump more points than simply the leftover three (if you max smite and heal) to get a manageable penalty to your mana pool if are 'interrupted' while enchanted with it.
And I'd recommend Shield of Judgement for a smiting elite.
If you have some okay healing, putting on Shield of Judgement will greatly reduce the DPS you take, therefore allowing you to keep up (and stay ahead).

I like using Mantra of Signets with the elite smiting skill, Signet of Judgment. It lets you cast Sig of Judgment twice in a row, immediately.
With your smite attribute points high, the skill does a pretty good amount of damage to the enemy you direct it at and it knocks down that enemy. It also does the same amount of damage to all surrounding enemies. It's not an aoe skill over time, so there's no time for the enemies to scatter and avoid the damage.
With my smite attribute points pretty high, the skill does 79 damage, I think, which isn't amazing, but it's pretty good, especially given you can cast it twice in a row, knock down your enemy and inflict the damage on nearby enemies as well.
