so where do u put your runes then

Uh. You put them in your armor. The point being made is that unless you are dispelled, the quality of your armor is less important than usual because even if you're hit a lot, you will be hit for the same amount that someone with good armor will be hit for. This is not normally the case when you have low armor.
On another note, I have been using a Furious Axe of Enchanting with this build, and it seems to make a huge difference for Bonetti's. My EN charges up so fast it's a joke - frequently another Bonetti's is ready the second the previous one drops.

mite i agree with you totally about your build and i think it is great for UW, but i have found another nice skill you might want to take a look at. Life Barrier, great for UW if you have it where you take 50% dmg and you have 55 health and protective bond on you, your not going to take anydmg. is works very nice with mending but it is a little hard to find a space on your toolbar. i have been playig with it and it workd great! you han get it in the frozen forest outside of iron mines, the bosses name is Esher Hardwood. i don't know if this post has been anyhelp to you but i hopefully you have at least looked at it.... THANKS

It is very possible it will be nerfed. So sad, why does Anet have to get down on a build like this, this is one very clever build - skill building at its best. But we won't know for sure till the weekend starts. Here's hoping.

There are 2 problems I have with life barrier:
1. You can't cast it on yourself, meaning it works great in a 2-man config but not solo
2. It's another enchant, putting you at 5 arrows of degen, meaning you will lose Protective Bond if you drop to 0 energy. Again this is only a problem for solo not 2-man.
I have used it in a 2-man and it's awesome, I only take 1 damage instead of 2 per hit meaning I can take double the size of a mob, which is like 36-48 which isn't possible in UW anyway.
As for nerfing, I have read that Divine Boon will have a recharge now but my build doesn't depend on it. The only thing that would reall hurt this build is if they took away the Protective Bond at 17 costing 1. I don't know if they will or not because this build has a TON of vulnerabilities, especially in PvP. It's not like you see all of these Protection monks dominating in the Tombs.
The one problem is that this build and others like it are probably wrecking the economy, making lots of people very rich and driving up the prices, but then again, what is there really to buy anyway? I still use all collector items that I got for free and I have some 1.5k armor from Droknars. All the rest of the money is useless. What I really use my cash for is to buy runes that I haven't unlocked yet when I'm trying out a new PvP build.
So I can see they may nerf because of farming value but then again there isn't anything to buy so who cares?

Ive been using this build for weeks now, ever scince I got SoJ. The mass regen beats boon-spam hands down, especialy scince you can't move while casting boon. Ive found that bonetti's recharges slightly faster than nessacary. Only when you're being absolty pounded will bonetti's recharge fast, and you only need bonett's when being ponded.
Yes, the build can kill coldfires without feeling threatened. However, going and trying that is an exercise in fustration. Its not hard, but its [I]so annoying[I] because your only energy regen is blessed sig, and coldfires keep rust on you full time.
In other areas, healing monks are a real problem. I couldn't kill the Sages in Elona's Reach, it just wasn't happening. That aside, I managed to solo the not only the mission, but the bonus as well.
As far as duos go, Life Bond is a really nice skill, as it will halve the damage, then deal 0 damage to whoever cast it on you, allowing for skills such as balth's spirit to trigger. If you cast it on another 55 monk, it will give you energy when he/she is hit, rather nice scince your main energy gain is from being attacked.
On that note, running 5 enchants is not a danger to pront bond. When you hit 0 energy with <0 energy regen (or with energy degen rather), the last enchant cast is removed, till you are at zero energy regen. Pront bond is fine, unless you for some reason, decide to cast it last. Why anyone would do such a thing is beyond me. I found this when using boon spam, before I managed to capture SoJ.
In situations outside of soloing, this build holds up longer than boon spam, because it dosn't require being hit by physical damage to regen hitpoints. Mass degen may hurt a little more, scince once it gets >2 you're going to have problems surving under any fire at all. Oh, and not only does it hold up better, but it takes even less thought than a boon-spamer might, as if your HP bar isn't moving, odds are it never will vs that mob. Ive gone out to dinner with 6 Coldfires attacking me, only to return to see my monk sitting there with full hp when I got back.

Not in its current form. I'd guess about a week and maybe a secondary change before its figured out again. Props to MiteeThoR for this great build even if it was nerfed. Heh, MiteeThoR, if I were you I would take it as a compliment that Anet nerfed your build. Anyway my question now is where is the ecto going to come from? Prices went from 7k to 11k in less then 30 minutes, looks like there will be huge money to be made for those who did solo UW. Also, how have you guys ben running the two man? Seems like a eng Necro might make this build work again but there are prob better ways.

Yeah, I'd love to know if there is a way around the protective bond nerf. Could someone please msg me if they know a way around it? I would offer to pay but I assume that if you're reading this thread you've already spent the past few weeks raking in the fat cash like I have :P

Use protective spirit.
I may be being stupid here but the UW is a mission right? so why not nerf Solo UW runs by making a minimum number of party members before you can enter...

Bonetti's
Balth aura
Healing breeze
Zealots fire
Prot Spirit
Mending
Balth spirit
Essence bond (unneccessary)
max smite, enough heal for +4 mending and the rest in protect. Aggro the aataxes, kill them all then get the Q and aggro the creeps.
Edit: Nevermind, its just as easy to aggro everything as before, just takes a bit more practise.
