multiple personality E/A - assassin build
there are two sides to this character.. one that stands as a nuker who attacks with the percission and tatical command of an assassin. - and a quick spike, hit and run assassin, in nuker clothing. - i split both the builds i use on this character in order to post each one in their proper forums. i will cross link them to each other for ease of veiwing both sides and strategies.
Profession: E/A
Name: Radioactive Assassin (Assassin in Nuker clothing)
Type: PvE
Category: Storage Assassin
Attributes
Fire:10
Energy Storage:11 (7+3+1)
Daggers:9
deadly arts:3
shadow arts:4
battle mage armor.
any max dmg daggers.
any max dmg el staff or wand.
Skills Set
Shadow of Haste
Jagged Strike-----------------------------------------
Jungle Strike -------------you can use any attack combo you like best, these are just what i use.
Repeating Strike-------------------------------
Death Blossom---------------------------------
Fireball (this is the only el skill, so you can use any element you like best)
Shadows Refuge
Res Sig
Summary: This build came about by making 2 observations with my sin primary. 1) while my attacks were doing the most dmg to my targets, it was generally my casters who would finish it off after I've teleported away to recharge the combo. And 2) throwing 3-4 hits in a row that don't result in crit hits leaves a sin hurting for energy. - and then an observation that El Battle mage armor had the same AC as Assassins have against physical dmg.
Strategy is the same as playing any assassin, defend your casters from rushers; then spike targets with hit and run tactics (i like teleporting, but dodging stances, shadow steps, and just running away all work as good) and using your own caster spells to finish them off. - just like a regular Assassin, you can't hang around in fights.
Start off by using Shadow of Haste, and then run up to your target. Use Jagged Strike, Jungle Strike, then Repeating Strike. Repeating Strike can be used over and over as it leads into it's self. So depending on how far away you used Shadow of Haste, you can use it 2-3 times b4 leading into Death Blossom.
Shadow Art's is set @ 4, not because I'm a retard, but because it gives 9 seconds with haste for you to use your combo for the spike. If you have it lower you don't have enough time to deal out the full dmg, if you have it higher you find yourself in position to get hammered longer then you want (well, at least longer then i want.)
when Shadow of haste ends, throw your fireball and finish off the guy you just spiked. If your Fireball is still casting when haste end, it will break the spell – so wait until haste ends b4 you cast it, with only 9 seconds you won't be waiting long after your combo is done.
Notes & Concerns:
With my assassin Primary, i found myself needing energy almost after every foe i engaged, even using lotus only combos, with this set up the only time i don't have energy is when i get hit by exhaustion. As far as I'm concerned energy storage > critical hits for making sure your Assassin has energy in and after fights.
I carry both my fire staff and daggers with this build, when i do get hit with exhaustion, or there's no good targets open for an assassin to attack, or if I've drawn too much attention – I'll switch to it and hang out with the casters, using fireball whenever it's charged, until i have an advantage again.
This build was tested several times in Vizunah Square, local side. Out of 6 times through, only two resulted in deaths. One was while res-ing a war – and another where i suicided on an afflicted monk's death nova cuz he was healing the boss my team was trying to kill. - I've only tested it PvE, but would suspect it to work fairly well in PvP; especially with the surprise factor of a El running up sticking them with a dagger.
This character is only Lvl 19, and started in factions, so the attribute points are based on 155. you can increase any of the attributes you want, but remember to keep shadow arts low if you are going to use Shadow of Haste so you can have it at a manageable time frame. - i haven't capped AoD yet, so that might end up replacing Haste – but i like knowing that I'm going to be teleported where i expect to be, without having to do anything besides focus on my attacks.

i've been trying a modification to this build, removeing repeating strike for burning speed. use burning speed, then start after your target and hit shadow of haste en-route... you get the nice 8 seconds of burning on your foe right when you get there, and still can time your combo to end with shadow of haste. then finish off with a fireball when needed, but i find you need it as a finisher less so it can stay in reserve, or used as a first strike b4 runing in.

This looks like an interesting build to try out...I've also been dying to try out an A/E or E/A Starburst Assassin.

GLS+GPS+HoO+FS+TF+Starburst= guaranteed death to ANYTHING too much damage and conditions and you won't lose extra energy from starburst as you will be empty by the end of this combo.

we were clearly thinking in the same direction Wild, because i got tired of Dashing after kiting targets just to finish them off. But what i did was go A/E and instead of fireball i packed Lighting Strike! If the first one didnt kill them the second one would and its very spammable and energy safe.

yeah, the el spell doesn't matter- just whatever you prefer. my fireball is doing 91 dmg, which is way more then i generaly need to finish off a target, but who doesn't like doing a little overkill?

darg not too bad for my combo, I do my job with that combo, I find the ickle lonely monks that are all by themselves, then I hit HoO and by that time some idgit warrior tries to come and backstab me and he gets a Starburst in the face, leaving a massive burn.

after a few tweeks, i've replaced death blosum for the repeating strike i took out when i added burning speed, my current skill list for this build is
burning speed
shadow of haste
jagged strke
twisting fang
repeating strike
fireball
shadows refuge
res sig
same play as above, only use repeating strike as often as you can, untill you get teleported back.. the repeating strikes end up stacking up to more dmg then blosum was doing.
