Default An odd strength/smite/hammer build o.o

Im not going to post the exact number of what you need in each attribute as I haven't had a chance to use it yet.

Hammer: high
Strength: obviously high
Smite: high

Skills
Primal Rage (Elite)
Judges Insight
Stonesoul strike
Hammer Bash
Counter Blow
I will avenge you!
Dolyak Signet
Not sure on last skill, maybe spear or light or something, dunno... maybe signet or rage or bane signet.

Ok well as I have been told by a few, primal rage + judges insight would be AWESOME against RA teams since sometimes you might be lucky enough that they wont have a monk... or if they do you can just attack the monk to frustrate them for at least +40 percent armor penetration (the extra penetration from strength can only be used on strength ATTACK skills )

So it starts that you first turn on your judges insight THEN turn on primal rage since primal rage disables all your skills for ten seconds.

When the ten seconds is up and your skills are enabled but you lose 20% AP, continue attacking as normal since you still have the 20% AP from judges insight, then the moment you have enough andrenaline for hammer bash use it (unless the foe is attacking you, then use counter blow since its cheaper).

this will cause the foe to fall down, now obviously this where lots of ya'll like to use "if foe is knocked down" skills. And right here is where you will use Stonesoul strike and hit for at least 40+40 damage since smiting should be at least 10 and holy damage ignores armor, not to mention it has a very fast casting time. or if you dont want to use it you can also used the time they are knocked down to reuse your judges insight before you turn on primal rage again.

Iway for attack speed when its possible to get it

Dolyak signet for armor if you need it, remember that the build is made for high damage and that you KILL THEM FIRST since you are without healing.

I just had an epiphany... if you can knockdown your foe long enough, you could get off BOTH stonesoul strike and holy strike (guild wiki even says they are duplicates of the same skill, just made one for each continent, holy strike in tyria, stonesoul in cantha). That would be for 160 damage! 320 against undead >.>.

note that after you cast the strike spells and go back to casting judges insight + primal rage, by the time primage rage ends, the strike spells will be recharged when the 10 seconds of being disabled ends.

8th slot can be anything from the second strike spell for the 160 holy damage, resurrection signet, Coward! None shall pass!, etc. bane signet would be a good skill against warriors attacking you, more holy damage plus they are knocked down again

A couple things, Primal Rage is a horrible elite. While using it, your adrenaline doen't get charged, as such you need to wait even longer to pull off your kd combo. Also you will only get 32% chance of armor penetration (according to guild wiki). Between Judge's Insight, Primal Rage, and Stone Soul Strike you'll already be using up 20 energy points, not to mention your adrenaline gain is already going to be pitifully low due to the hammer's slow attack speed. This build won't work in even RA you have no snares preventing people from just running away from you and avoiding all that armor penetraion. Sure you have hammer bash but you still need to smack someone a couple times after your primal rage wears off to charge it up.

Some variations that would make your build better:

1. Change Primal Rage to Backbreaker, this will give you 4 seconds to chain all your "while foe is knocked down" skills like soulstone strike.

2. Take out counter blow and judge's insight for crushing blow and irresistable blow. Judge's is too expensive for a warrior to maintain effectively especially on a hammer warrior where some of your best attacks are energy based. Crushing blow will give you deep wound which is basically guaranteed death to any PvE foe and will put a hurt on any PvP foe. Irresistable Blow is an awesome spammable attack that even snares people that are in a defensive stance or are under a defensive enchantment (mending doesn't count as defense). With stonesoul strike already going through armor and block/evade you really don't need it and can switch it for bull's strike or rush. Though if you find that you're running out of energy too often in PvE you can change backbreaker to devastating hammer and swap out irresistable blow for auspicious blow which will give you 8 energy back from a weakened foe for 8 adrenaline.

3. You should change IWAY to an actual IAS. If you're worried about the double damage from frenzy and can't bother to use a cancel stance Tiger's Stance is alright too. While Dolyak signet is an awesome skill, I would switch it out for heal sig. It limits movement too much. If some overzealous elementalist breaks out fire storm and breaks the aggro of the mob around you, it'll be a pain to chase down all those monsters before they reach your backline with dolyak's. Also heal sig will provide you with enough self heal for when your monk is too busy regenning/running away to heal you. If you find that your attributes won't work you can really take out the majority of your points from strength and split them among tactics and smiting.

In general when I play hammer warrior, I don't spec in smiting. I would much rather go full warrior and put hammer mastery at 16 with strength and tactics at 10 each. I tried holy strike but found that the extra damage wasn't worth the attribute investment required to put it at a decent damage level. I would much rather just go ele subclass to add another great knockdown in shock.

I think guild wiki is wrong on it being on 32%, remember guild wiki is all user submitted stuff o.o

I have no idea where they get 32% from, I even read the article in it about stacking armor penetration and whatnot and NOTHING leads to it only being 32% and not 40

Maybe he's thinking about recharge/cast times.

You're right, I have no idea where they got that value from. I changed it to 40% so future generations won't be mislead.
