When to make an 11th minion?
I would guess that if you make an 11th minion, your oldest minion instantly dies. (Unless it's a Flesh Golem and you already had one, in which case I assume the original one dies.)
Can anybody confirm this? Is there the usual Soul Reaping benefit? If it's a Flesh Golem, does it leave a corpse?
And if this is true, doesn't it imply that you should make minions fairly freely, even when your count is already 10, assuming that your preferred Animate skill has recharged and you have the spare energy?
At least up to a point, that is. If your minions are getting slaughered in battle, and there aren't all that many enemy corpses around, you might wait to for them to die naturally before replacing them.

The flesh golem when it dies from degen/enemies it leaves a corpse but when you animate another flesh golem, the flesh golem dies and leaves an exploited corpse
and if you created an 11th minion, I think it was your first minion you created dies and yes there is a soul reaping benefit when you animate one minion and another dies.

I personally use animate bone minions as oftern as i can. 15 energy to cast and i get 28 energy back from the reaping. I have a tendancy to nova my minion so thats another 10 energy gone but i'm still making energy.
Using this principle i find i nova my oldest minions then as they are at their target i can summon two more causing 210 dmg to target foes in AoE AND get two fresh minions AND get energy leftover.
I now also have a free spot where offering of blood once was since i felt it was wasted.
Along with helping me, any other necros in my party also benifit from a steady energy boost

How can you identify which ones are your oldest minions, and pick them out to cast Death Nova on them?
Well, the rate of health decrease would be a good clue, I guess ...

Since the value of the spell was lowered by the introduction of the 10 minion limit.

As far as I know its not your oldest that gets replaced, but the weakest one who has the least amount of health.
However, since I'm the only one to mention this, I'll test this when I get home. Summon a Golem, and the summon a whole bunch of Bone Minnions. The Golem should be gone after 5 Minnion casts. Should be easy to test on the Isle of the Nameless for anyone that want to try it.

You can kill your golem by casting an 11th minion. My golem is always the first minion, so I ahve to be careful in all I do. There have been numerous times where I've accidentallly cast another minion (just not paying attention) and killed my golem. When you do this, the golem does not leave an exploitable corpse. (at least, not from what i've seen). It instead just dies. Kinda lame, but oh well, they gotta balance it all out somehow.

when your golem die because it is your oldest minion, you can still create another... your golem always leave a corpse when it dies, assuming he didn't died b/c you created another

I'm fairly sure it's the minion with the lowest health, not the oldest minion, because I bring Golem, Bone Minions, and Vamp Horrors. The Bone Minions are always the ones dying first when I raise Vamp Horros, as logn as the golem is about 75% health or so.
