Blood necros are a general term.

There are Blook Spike necros, battery necros, well necros, and thanks to Factions, minor healing necros.

Battery Necros contain Blood is Power (e) and or Blood Ritual. Both will give other party members energy by the use of these skills.

Blood is Power is BiP. Blood Ritual is BR. No one cares about Blood Renewal, so if someone asks you if you are BiP or BR you know what that means.

Hope that clears things for you.

While it's on topic, can anyone tell me what SS means.
Heard it a couple of time, but I still don't know what it is.

SS means Spiteful Spirit. SV is supposed to mean Spinal Shivers. This is to stop people being confused between the two spells.

If you don't know what Spiteful Spirit is, its an elite spell found in Tyria (Prophecies).

Hope this helps.

SS always refers to Spiteful Spirit.

SV refers to Sympathetic Visage, a messmer spell.

Spinal Shivers is often just called 'Shivers'.

Shadow Strike doesnt have a good abreviation, so just type it out.

Ah... I know there was in a thread some discussion on Shivers and its abreviation. I just couldn't remember what the outcome of that discussion was.

Thanks for clearing it up.

Blood necro is just the blanket term used to describe the necro who mainly uses blood spells.

Just like a curses necro will mainly use curses spells.

5 points to guess what a Blood/Curses necro is =P

"Blood Necro" usually includes a variety of skills, and can include:

- either Blood Ritual (a.k.a. BR, at one time was also called Rit but changed for obvious reasons) or Blood is Power (BiP, Prophecies-only Elite) to give Energy to the casters, especially healers. The advantage of BiP is that it's a lower energy cost and you do not have to touch the person to give energy, so you can save being drawn into battle or distracted too far... but you sacrifice more health.
- Well of Blood (WoB) or Well of Power (Prophecies-only Elite, a.k.a. WP, since WoP is filtered in the game) as an effective support heal -- WP also helps regen Energy.
- degen skills such as Life Siphon / Transfer, Barbed Signet, Dark Pact, Unholy Feast, Vampiric Gaze, etc.
- sometimes Orders skills, such as Order of Pain (OoP) or Order of the Vampire (OotV) which are effective team support skills, but should have some health regen to balance the sacrificing. Orders Necros can be a whole specific build, and can sometimes get into the Curses-based Order of Apostasy, for those depending on Canthan Elites.

SS = Spiteful Spirit (Prophecies-only Elite), a Curses skill, and as mentioned is usually linked with Spinal Shivers or Shivers of Dread. Regardless of Sympathetic Visage, Shivers skills are usually abbreviated as Sv.

And for those of you who are Cantha Necros, don't fret over all the Prophecies-only Elites: people just haven't figured out the effectiveness of the Canthan ones yet (i.e. Wail of Doom).
