First off there are some things I notice,
1. It's a recurve, crap fire rate and less range than a longbow
2. What does +33% Poisoned have ANYTHING to do with Cripshot?
Yes, you use apply poison with Cripshot, but poison is so easy to reapply if it get mended or w/e. A +33% Crippled string is MUCH more effective.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the intended purpose of a cripshot ranger in this case is a flag runner. Recurve bow = faster shot (like having favorable winds up), which is harder to dodge. If you're gonna poison them, why not +33%? when saw this bow, my first thought was that it would be a great bow for a gvg flag runner.

I think a 3-man group of JI Rangers would work great. Each one bring a spirit like FW, Winnow, maybe EW to counter the QZ that the enemies use. Then just pelt away from long range with a flatbow. I think I'm gonna try this tonight with some guildies.

Havn't tried it yet, but with QZ SB should recharge pretty fast.
Arcane Rotscale, and maybe bring a mesmer for Interujpt/Shutdown WITH Signet of humility or something. And a Choking Gas/Practice Stance Ranger(maybe). AND OR Have the mesmer be Me/R with QZ and serpants Quickness and have Rotscale Powerblocked(Take out Energy Surge for Powerblock) the whole time.

Tried killing him the other day, my group had 5 N/Mo bloodspikers and a Mo/Rt wth Protection prayers and spirits. It worked fairly well, we then tried it with 3 N/Mo and a Mo/Rt later...but that dragon has so much health, not to mention its' 227+ damage Deathly Swarms...

I used to run a good build in a certain place that had good sephis axe drop rates. In this run, I cross paths with Rotscale. I think my build was something like as follows:
Shield of Judgement {E}
Cyclone Axe
Smite Hex
Live Vicariously
Balth's Spirit
Mend Ail
Can't remember the rest off hand, but the next time I get on my tank I might try that run again and see if I can get one of them new fancy bows. If I get it to work like it used to, I'll post here.

This is imo a great cripshot bow, because:
- Poison Covers the Cripple Immediately when applied
- Poison makes for nice damage while doing so
- Recurve has faster arrow speed, so its harder to DODGE... Cripshot can still be dodged... not evaded or blocked...
- On my cripshot ranger I keep ppl crippled, I dont keep firing away at them, hell.. I dont even care when I have empathy + SS on me and why not.. they have SoJ on them.. I only hit them once every 30 secs or so...

Once his little friends are dead, a single (good) interrupt ranger can keep Rotscale at bay, Concussion Shot ftw. As soon as he is suffering from dazed, you have a small window where he won't pump out his insane damage. The good thing is that Concussion Shot recharges the very second it wears off, allowing you to instantly re-apply it.
The main problem though is to do damage. When Rotscale is perma interrupted, spells like Spiteful Spirit won't do any good. SoJ does neither. Plus, Rotscale no longer is undead so you can't just own him with smiting spells.
My bet is, that an AoE Smiter (due to healing with added damage) and an interrupt ranger could duo him. But it would take a real insane amount of time as in: not worth it (though he drops the bow every time).

Although i would have enjoyed a crip string on the bow, this will suffice because a +5 energy recurve bow is damn near impossible to find.
Recurve because they have the best accuracy in the game.
Anyway, we farmed this guy tonight, 3 bows in one run. Heres the easy way to do this:
1 nuker with MS.
1-3 tanks.
1-4 monks.
Get to the bunch, have the tanks take aggro and drop a MS on the dragons. They'll die. Rotscales dragon buddies also drop this bow, no need to even take the time to kill Rotty...
(If you REALLY want to kill Rotscale, 1 choking gas ranger, 1 fire nuker and whatever else. Easy kill.)

Its refered as the best cripshot bow because recurve bows have the best hit rate. Cripshot got hit with the 15 energy cost so another 5 energy adds another hit of the attack. And as far as the crippling bowstring over the poisonious one 33% longer cripple duration when there crippled for 6 seconds isnt much but 33% longer poison duration when there poisoned for 11 seconds you decide.

One perma-obsidian flesh tanker.
One air of enchant smiter.
One holy wrath/ retribution monk.
Since the enchanter never actually enters the AoE, Rotscale will never target him, so the ele will be the target. Since both FoC and Desecrate Enchants are spells, rotscale can do nothing but attack. This makes him no threat at all, and the enchanter can just deal massive damage.

Nice ideas. Keep them coming.
Tried soloing him today. Did not go well. Almost impossible to pull those bowmasters away from the island.
Maybe use Grenths balance (for major damage and healing)?
Then Plague touch to daze Rotscale when he use's Deafening Roar.
Remember rotscale has Malaise (you suffer -2 energy degen), which can really hurt any casters.
Here's a pic of a little build i tried earlier.

In that screenshot, the name of the bow is blue. Yet the names of the items are blue. To my best knowledge of greens, they appear with Green names.

Maybe you should just get a party of 4 and pay for that group to give you a good show. Hardest part is to find a good group willing to just use the skills that are suggested to work as a team. GL and have fun. Going in groups of 8 who dont even make it to RotScale without a DP is hillarious to watch.
Course i meant to post here lol
