Curse

Hi! I just created a new character. She's a Necro/Rit. I want to make her into a Curses Necro, but need some pointers. I have another Necro and she's a Necro/Monk, but she's a MM, and have her down perfectly. Just need help with the Curses. If you have any suggestions for a N?Rt Curses, I'd really appreciate it!! It's either curses or soul reaping.

All suggestions welcome!!!

I'd like to see some suggestions for this too. I haven't played a ritualist yet and so far have my necromancer/mesmer to lvl 15 any other secondary hints I hear will be useful once I get to Senji's Corner

Although from what I have read so far the healing(restoration) side of the ritu needs to be quite high to get decent self heals, compared to monk say. While also without the spawning power attribute, the communing would be a bit weaker.

I was originally thinking something along the lines of Curses, Soul reaping and spawning and use wells a bit only alot of it may not work as the spawning would not be high enough.
Not too sure tbh, hope I haven't put you off. Just hope someone can post a better response.

Keen to hear this answer.

Oh- It may be easier for people to answer if they know whether you have access to the prophercy skills and if you intend to play PvE, PvP or farming.

If you want to go curses, N/Me is the way to go.

N/Rit is more for MMing. Communion and Restoration Magic are good for MMs.

Curses from Canthas? Hmmm...

You can be a Health Degen build.

Chilblains (Curse)
Deflie Enchantments (Curse)
Faintheartedness (Curse)
Soul Barbs (Curse)
Suffering (Curse)
Plague Sending (Curse)/Plague Touch
Parasitic Bond (Curse)/Generous Was Tsungai (Restoration)
Flesh Of My Flesh (Restoration)

Support Curser

Price of Failure (Curse)
Recklass Haste (Curse)
Weaken Armor (Curse)
Mark of Pain (Curse)
Enfeebling Touch (Curse)
Shelter (Communion)
Union (Communion)
Flesh Of My Flesh (Restoration)

I don't know what is Factions only or what is Prophecies only, so you may not have all the skills listed.

If you have both Prophecies and Factions, then definitely get Spiteful Spirit (Elite Curse) and Parasitic Bond (Curse). These two are my favourite. Parasitic Bond is the very last curse you should cast on a target (it is a cover hex).

Aw bummer!!! I honestly don't like using Mesmerizers...but looks like I'll have to make a new character. AGAIN!! (hehe) Okay. So what would we suggest for a N/M ? Since the new necro I have N/Rit, what would you suggest for MMing? Thanks so much for your input!!!!!!

There's no reason really to make a new character , you just have to get your current character through to the Senji's corner town after (Napui Qaurter Mission) see the professions changer and fork out 500g.

If you wanna be an SS, drop the rit secondary for mesmer

No point in SS without echo

And yes there are other good curse skills besides SS, but it is the best, IMO

SS is only in Prophecies, if you don't have the original Guildwars, then you can't get SS.

Yes, SS is the best curse skill, but its not the end all or be all in the curse build.

Yes, don't delete and create a character, just change your secondary profession at Senji's Corner.

However, you may end up spending a bit more money on skills.

Echoing SS is a bit expensive (energy wise).

SS + Recklass Haste is good.

The good thing about Ritualists, is that they have a hard rez, Mesmers and Necros do not. You can still make a nice N/Rit.

I don't know if the spirits like Pain does physical damage, if it does then:

Pain (communion)
Dissonance (communion)
Mighty Was Vorizun (communion)
Barbs (curse)
Defile Enchantments (Curse)
Mark of Pain (cuse)
Weaken Armor (curse)
Flesh of My Flesh (Restoration)

Or

Price of Failure (curse)
Reckless Haste (curse)
Suffering (curse)
Wither (e) (curse)
Defile Enchantments (curse)
Parasitic Bond (curse)
Mighty Was Vorizun (communion)
Flesh of My Flesh (restoration)

Don't forget Canthan born characters can go to Prophecies via the Marketplace docks. Go to LA, Get yourself to Droks, then Camp Rankor. Cap SS just south of Camp Rankor. My Canthan born Necro is an SS curse / death necro. Of course you have to have both games, not just factions.

I tried Arcane Echo with SS. Too much energy. I prefer Reckless Haste. The increased attack speed helps spread more SS damage to others plus they have an increased chance to miss your team member.
