Im a level 16 N/Me and im having some problems fnding an effective build. the only elite i have is spiteful spirit and i treid an ss build and it didnt work so well. Maybe im just no good at it. Id be intrested in trying a minion bomber build, seems like that be better suuited for general pve and missions.

Don't fret about your character or your ability to play a N/Me.

You're only Level 16. Wait until you get all 200 attribute points.

I have a lv 20 N/Me and she is awesome. I don't really use builds, I use what seems to work (not that builds don't, just I create an 8 skill set depending on where I am).

SS is a fantastic elite and one of the best skills in the game. use arcane echo with it. maybe reckless haste or enfeebling blood

Echoing SS is tough on energy management. Bring some energy skills from the Mesmer Illusion attribute to help with that. Personally I find myself using secondary skills for next to nothing. Deosn't matter if I'm playing my Necro, Monk, Ele, Warrior etc etc. For me a N/X SS build, MM build, etc. works the best. If I think I'm going to need a res I'll bring signet or use a secondary like Monk or Rit for a re-usable res. Thats more than likely the only secondary skill you'll see on my bar.

Mesmer inspiration attribute.

My SS necro farming build uses arcane echo and it is hard on energy. 15+15+15=45 energy. Ouch. Don't be afraid to use more second profession skills if need be. My SS farming build goes as follows:

SS
Reckless Haste
Arcane Echo
Drain Enchant
Inspired Hex
Power Drain
Energy Tap
Distortion

I need those 4 inspiration magics to keep me casting SS out there. On a good round I can get 4 targets hexed with SS in 20 seconds, which is 37 x 4 damage pretty much every 1-2 seconds. Not bad.

Ok u want an MM build? this build only uses Necro Spells so secondary proffesion is irrelevant.

Attributes:
Death Magic = 12+3+1
Soul Reaping = The rest of ut attribute points +1

Armour:
Before i had factions i was using 15k necrotic armour but you could use any armour you wanted really. Scar Pattern could be avoided due to its low armour.
Make sure you have a Death magic face scar + a superior death magic rune + a minor soul reaping rune.

Skills:

1.Blood of the Master is used to keep your minions health up.
2.Verattas Sacrifice is also a method keeping your minions health up especially when they are old minions and they have a big degen and you want to slow it down until you can find more corpses.
3.Animate Bone Fiend is your basic ranged minion, use this when you have corpses available to you.
4.Animate Bone Horror is you basic close combat minion, make sure you have a balance between these and you bone fiends.
5.Animate Bone Minions brings up 2 minions so this spell is used to bring up minions when your minion count is low or when you need to cover as many enemies as possible at once.
6.Taste of Death is the spell to use when your health is low - as it steals from your minions though make sure you dont use it too often, you dont want to eat all your minions.
7. Deathly Swarm is your spell to use when the battle is just beginning and you have no corpses available to you.
8.Reserection Signet obvious use.

Changes:
If you have factions then not only can you use the Minions Master armour but there are some good spells to add to your skill bar, as the above build doesnt use an elite then you can add one - this beign flesh golem, you can swap this in instead of deathly swarm as it isnt particularly inportant. Another great spell is Animate Vampiric Horror, swap this is for Animate Bone Fiend. If you have Monk as your secondary proffesion then you can swap the rez signet for a different rez spell.

Usage:
Ok if your using the standard build then just start the battle by deathly swarming an enemy until it dies and then brind up your minions slowly building them up until you reach your max. It is easier to animate minions than it is to maintain them so you should continue to create them even after you have reached your limit - keep them alive while moving and fighting with BotM.

If you have Flesh golem then use that on the first available corpse and, as it leaves a usable corpse you can have a golem for pretty much all the time - if it is getting low on health it can b easier to ToD it then recreate it.

The MM build can be used to solo most of the missions in Cantha - i havnt tried in Tyria yet.
