Default Nandet's Recurve Bow

ok. this bow is right outside vasburg armory.

there's some wardens immediately outside, and then you can maneuver your way to him by running past mobs and what not.

however, once i get to him, i can't kill him because there are two dredge guardians. and they heal each other. and they heal more than i could ever hope to damage them.

I use the quest journey to the whirlpool which i haven't completed so there are afflicted that tie up the normal mobs, and i get mhenlo as an ally.

any suggestions on beating these jerks?

Could try scourge healing, dunno how much the gardeners heal for, but that would probably hurt them a bit..

Just an idea >.>

yeah, i might have someone smite for me and two man it, or possibly bring along a monk and a mesmer from the guild to help me out. If i get anywhere with it I'll post what was used to get the bow to drop.

btw, mhenlo is a beast out there. as long as he doesn't get bodyblocked, he can heal me all day.

Update:

I got it.

It is not soloable. We used a 3 man team.

me, as a w/mo riposte tank
sever/gash/riposte/deadly riposte/live vicariosly/vigorous spirit/dolyak signet/dist blow

zealous longsword of fortitude is the weapon i used, I would reccomend a -2/+45 while enchanted shield, but anything would do, those stats are simply optimal.

me/n backfire/empathy/spirit of failure/ignorance/migraine/some other stuff. I don't remember the build exactly, but you can play around with it.

mo/me bonder
life bond/boon signet/essence bond/prot spirit/guardian/rof/mend ailment/rez

high prot and divine favor, i don't know his attributes, this is just a rough guide.

anyway, you can solo everything up to him rather easily, blurred vision sucks when you're the warrior like I was, but the mesmer picks up the slack there.

when you get to him, have the warrior aggro everything first, and do the usual dolyak/riposte/riposte crap over and over, while constantly attacking and causing bleeding on the garderners (monks) have your mesmer help you out here with backfire and ignorance to shutthem down.

drain enchantment would be another nice skill for energy management and removing shielding hands and what not.

anyway, i don't think the bow is worth all that much, but it has a wonderful skin and if you like to have your ranger pvp ready this is perfect for crip shot.

This bow is solo-able and a decent alternative to Nandet's bow...

The skin isn't that pretty, but I like the black look.

but nandet's bow is SO much prettier and it has a fortitude mod, which I'm always a fan of. that bow is rather nice looking though.

perhaps this would be my next farming project, but here's a few things to keep in mind: often the profession of the spawns are randomized, ie, there may be 2 gardeners (you said guardians but I think you meant gardeners) one run but one the next.

I like to try 2 manning a run for a bit until I get a good grasp of how they interact, their skills, etc. Go wammo with echo ss'er and be sure the wammo can group the baddies together, pulling the melee guys to the casters, primarily the healer(s). And take notice the skills they use.

I'll see if I can see what the Nandet group is about when I get back home tonight.

What I'm thinking is using a spirit bond/prot spirit monk with SoJ and scourge healing. Only problem is savage shot and possibly the gardeners being able to outheal the damage.
