Also - E/Me means you can use Mantra of Resolve and be un-interruptable.
At the expense of energy when they try to.

Mesmer secondary
the main reason people go e/me is mostly arcane echo and resolve.
arcane is somewhere arround bettletun, and resolve... GROTO. I would say, e/me. For a nuker, which Prophicies enforces upon thy soul whilst you a nuker, you need alot of fire skills to inflict damage. hence, a space for maximum of 2 slots is what you are left with to use mesmer, or any other secondary professions.
Secondary Monk
As far as secondary monking goes... nah. Monk is good for only early parts of the game. There is a point in game ( Kryta ) where you need to focus more on your primary job than secondary. To heal your self, use aura of restoration any way. As far as every one else goes, what do we have a monk hench or actual monk for?
Secondary Ranger
I would say, maybe a few running, or saving ur butt stances, or serpent's quickness is what this secondary profession used for when combined with ele. But then, I prefer wards if i must. Meele ofcourse, but you shouldnt really rely on this profession for defenses, which dont last much long compared to their recharge. At times, this profession is a very good choice Due to Spirits. For example, for the missions where you need to deal with foes which are high level, ( arround 24-28 ) and created off fire, you need Winter ( A ranger spirit skill ). Turns all your fire damage into cold damage. Thus, your fire attribute skills splash damage nearly as much as stated ( usualy 119 if we take fireball for an example), which would otherwise be doing a pathetic damage of 30-37ish.
Secondary Warrior
Lets ignore this one for now. A meele based char with caster profession, very situational.
Secondary necro
Well, quite a few possibilities. not a bad choice if you go curses or blood for Well of blood, and stuff related. Just a possibility out of many.
I would go for mesmer still, but it is all upto our needs and wants.
PS: You can change secondary professions later on this game in a place called Desert. Need to do certain quests to achieve this possibility, but it still exists.

We have henchies for added support...monk secondary is probably the #1 secondary profession for ALL classes. Monk secondary is a great choice for your first charachter b/c of all the added utility, soloability, and farming options.
