I think they manage it very well, however I wouldn't trust them with [skill=text]Contemplation of Purity[/skill]. Haven't tried it 'cause I'm afraid they'd use it as soon as a condition was applied to them.

Make sure you disable Divine Boon if you do try, as, if you don't they will just cast Divine Boon and stop maintaining it right afterwards.

I've never had any problems with the various Boon-Protection builds for Tahlkora, though Dunkoro, on the other hand, seems to have serious energy management issues. As an added note, I've never had a need to disable Divine Boon on either Hero; both of them cast it as soon as the zone loads and maintain it as they should, though they do tend to reapply it a bit too vigorously in the midst of Shatter Enchantment Mesmers...

In my 10 chars, Tahlkora is set as a Boon Prot, and it does it very very well.
As soon as we enter an area she casts Divine Boon and MoR, when MoR ends she immediately cast it again, if Divine Boon is stripped she casts it again, with RoF and Mend Condition, she does a great job, other skills depends on the specific quest/mission, but normally inspired hex, power drain works very well too.

Yes they do maintain Divine Boon, I figure the devs specifically coded Heros to deal with Divine Boon different than other maintained enchantments. No need to turn it off.
I tried using Talkhora in Shadow Nexus set to Boon Prot. I however chose to try OoB instead of MoR, big mistake. As soon as she OoBs she casts Spirit Bond on herself, a wash with the energy gained. I am gonna try it again uses Mo/Me and Power Drain/MoR. Don't give her Revealed Hex/Inspired Hex, heros will use the hexes they obtain, a waste of 10-15e. Leech Signet, Power Drain and Drain Enchantment are viable options.

I give my Monk Heroes Power Drain + Leech Signet, since AI is crazy with Interrupts.
I'll try setting one of the Monks to Boon Prot and see how well they do.

Never seen Tahlkora used acquired hex trough Inspired Hex.
But she's always set to guard, maybe because of that!

Myself and my partner cruised through the game with one boon prot and one blight monk. The only time they had any energy problems are on the odd occasion when we were under pressure from mobs without casters.
boon prot
Guardian, mend ailment, reversal of fortune, energy drain, power drain, holy veil, divine boon, rebirth (disabled)
B Light
Blessed Light, word of healing, prot spirit, shield of absorption, reversal of fortune, power drain, leach sig, res chant (disabled)

Tahlkora Nrgy Issues
Hi,
I have been running Tahlkora as Boon/Prot with a Major Divine rune on her head wrap and minor prot rune and sec mesmer profession. Her typical skill bar set is:
[skill]Reversal of Fortune[/skill] [skill]Guardian[/skill], [skill]Mend Condition[/skill] or [skill]Dismiss Condition[/skill], [skill]Signet of Devotion[/skill](she never uses) [skill]Divine Boon[/skill] [skill]Leech Signet[/skill] [skill]Inspired Hex[/skill], [skill]Mantra of Recall[/skill] or [skill]Energy Drain[/skill] or [skill]Peace and Harmony[/skill]
The problem is she uses RoF, Guardian and other quick cast spells whenever someone takes even like a 30-40 damage and but obvious she runs dry preety soon. I have her inspiration at around 9 something. MoR not that good for that. For Nrgy drain to work she has to be on atleast Guard mode else she never uses it on Avoid mode. But then she soon comes in the line of fire. Lately I have given her Peace & Harmony and manually disabled Boon never to activate even once. So its kinda waste of slot and ruining of a powerfull build like "Boon/Prot".
So you guys have any suggestion as to what should be done to re-live the Boon/Prot glory?
1) Decrease prot further and increase inspiration. Make her in avoid combat and give her Nrgy Drain with leech, PDrain, inspired hex
2) Remove Boon forever and just keep her as normal prot with P&H, increase prot attribute and rest in divine and inspiration.
3) Give her some other elite?
I have only Prof and NF on this account, no Factions!
Thanks

I am rather new to healing, but what is so great about Divine Boon that you'd want to use it so badly? It eats 1 pip, or 1E every 3 seconds, 2E when a spell is cast and a heal occurs. At 3 remaining pips, 1E per second, you can cast a 5E spell every 7 seconds, due to the 2E used extra by DB. So, at 13 DF and with Boon up you can cast 2 5E (prot)spells in 14 seconds and heal 108 HP from DB and 2x42=84 from divine favor itself, totalling 192HP.
But without Divine Boon in 14 seconds you'd regen 20E, from which you can cast 2 5E and one 10E spell, like Blessed Light and heal 101 + 3x42 = 227 HP. Casting 4x RoF would heal 164 HP from DF and RoF another 4x70=280 HP.

If using hero monks which I rarely do now since hench monks are better then all the other hench, I much prefer running a healers boon with channeling, inspired + revealed hex for e management, and whatever kind of prot suits the area i'm playing, usually RC.
