Default R/p or R/w?

I’ve tried both of these bunny thumping builds and it seems they both are good in their own way. With a R/p you can do major dmg and you can do it fast. And with R/w you have that good old KD. So I was wondering which one would be considered better in your opinion. To me is seems that R/p would be better because of the good and fast dmg. Mostly the R/p is only good for dmg but it seems more then a enough. So which one do you prefer?

You might want to post which builds you're talking about.

A Bunny Thumper benefits from (1) Knockdowns; (2) Cheap melee attacks that heavily tax a hammer warrior's limited energy pool; and (3) Knockdowns.

Since a Paragon doesn't have any of those, I would say that a R/W for that purpose is better.

I personally love my R/P, but it is for the synergies between the shouts/burning and my Bow/Pet attacks. I'm playing with a R/P trapper build as well....not sure how that is going to work.

You use a spear and some spear skills.

best quote I've seen in a while, and very truthful. I've done both R/W and R/P, personally I would pick a hammer of a spear.

Well I use the Rampaging R/P:

Blazing Spear
Merciless Spear/Vicious Spear
Wild Throw
Spear of Lightning
Rampage as One [E]
Comfort Animal
Charm Animal
Res/Whirling Defense (Depending on Situation)

I used a Zealous Spear for this. (15^50 and +30 HP).
You can also use Sundering and switch around.

There's another build for this "Packhunter" using Tiger's Fury for the IAS. It enables you to ditch Rampage as One and add an elite Spear Attack. My GW Wiki isn't working for me right so I can't search for it.

I used this R/P build through Nightfall with my Elonian ranger:
[skill]Barbed Spear[/skill][skill]Spear of Lightning[/skill][skill]Vicious Attack[/skill][skill]Rampage As One[/skill][skill]Call of Protection[/skill][skill]Charm Animal[/skill][skill]Comfort Animal[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]

In PVP, I like to use a variation with [skill]Poisonous Bite[/skill] in place of Call of Protection.

Unless you plan on rezzing in mid-battle, I would suggest using Signet of Return, as it can be used multiple times.
