Most Common PvE Damage Type?
Does anyone here have any knowledge regarding the more common damage type between Slashing and Piercing? Actually, the better question would perhaps be, which shield should I invest in? I am looking to create some shields for my heroes but I am not sure which to pick (they are monks). Any advice would be a great help! Thanks in advance!

I don't want to use any of those moded shields, since increased defense will help more in the longrun, IMO. I just asked which of those two options I gave you guys thought would be the best choice.

Now now, +defenses to certain damage types are quite useful in certain situations. I'd say slashing since AI PvE rangers (who are the main users of peircing) don't normally run up and attack monks but instead focus on the front line, but warriors (who are the main uses of slashing) do often chase people into the backlines.
And the fact that you are suggesting +30 -5 20% (ie, -1 damage all the time)....

Lesser of two evils. Might as well use a shield that will be effective all the time rather than a shield which is only effective occasionally.

Those are useless.
@the OP: take both for yourself, don't bother with shields on heroes. Information on monster damage types is sketchy, but you can pretty much assume warriors and some assassins to be slashing and rangers, paragons, and some assassins to be piercing. It's kinda balanced in many areas.
It's hard to manage hero equipment, so I'd just leave them with wands and offhands.

Use Greater Conflagaration and Winter and then use a +10 to Water shield.
Otherwise, I'd say piercing is better cuz henchies tend to run from melee types limiting the slashing dmg they take.
