It dont work that way, when you use Barrage is clears your other skills. So no Tigers fury. It would ROCK if that were the case.

Actually, it clears all preperation and skills but not stance. Tiger's fury is a stance so it will work with barrage.

This skill sux...an echo+dual shot+ignite arrow>barrage. Because its one arrow per target at all times...even though it sound like if there are no targets around your target, you are gonna shoot 6 arrows to that target.

Barrage isn't intended to hit a single target, it's for clearing out groups of targets. Furthermore, because of it's low initial cost combined with a decent expertise, you've got a spammable +13 dmg attack.

I believe it does work with Judge's Insight. Sort of a holy shotgun.

barrage + conjure + judge's insight + favorable winds = pvp viable.

You must have one of them... whatchamacallit's? Oh yeah, a Ranger/Elementalist/Monk.

You can't have conjure and JI stacked, so Barrage remains a lousy single target skill, and a good crowd controller.

if you have a zealous bow string this skill can be used to gain energy
even with a lvl 1 zealous it gains 1 energy (assuming you get 6 targets)

Of course you can have conjure and JI stacked on a Barranger - I've used this combo quite a bit, and it's amazing. The method is left as an exercise for the student.

Oh, right... I think pvp oriented thoughts a lot these days -you can get JI on a ranger by simply having another character cast it on him. Still somewhat lacking for pvp.

So where exactly do you get it then? Does Markis still have it?

Markis the main boss from Iron Mines is the only Mob I know of that carries it where its actually capable (Doomtouch or w/e the main boss in pre-searing has it...but no sig of cap there).

EDIT: Just read that "Snyk The Hundred Tongue" in the Abaddon's Mouth mission carries it.

Dont worry too much about the mission ending while your capping - The last enemies you need to beat for mission dont spawn anymore until after Markis is dead.

(to the guy that said Priest of Balt. - You can unlock any skill/weapon/etc at a priest of balt - but thats for a future PvP character - you dont actually get the skill)

Barrage doesn't have the November 10th AoE thing happening with it as has probably been noted already.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Barrage's bad sides keep it pretty locked up to its own build uses.

The good things:
1) Its a pure ranger's only real AoE attack. Thats an auto + I think..considering its AoE and plus damage.
2) With a Zealous bow this is a very energy friendly skill - you'll lose no net energy or even gain energy for using it. (not that big of a deal considering what Expertise is already doing for you).
3) Its combos made with Conjure (/ele) or Judge's Insight (/mo) make a build that is still used some - the BarrageBot.

Bad:
1) "Adjacent" - "Near by" is so much better in both PvP and PvE. Nothing ever groups that close anymore.
2) Takes Preps off, so that erases its possible uses as an alternate condition spamming device with Apply.
3) I could mention its limit to 6 enemies - but the last thing thats bad about it is just the sheer number of awesome Elites Rangers have as alternatives...

Theres basically just better stuff unless you are going for BarrageBot builds..which really is only good in SOME PvE areas at best...

Just curious, I heard from some of my guildies that there isn't only 1/1 zealous bow strings. Are there any higher strings and if so, could anyone give me a rough estimate of the cost?

No, there aren't better than 1:1 zealous, but there are vampiric up to 5:1, perhaps they got them confused? If there were 2:1 zealous they'd sell for astronomical prices.

Is this Skill worth Capping?

Yes. Get yourself a Horned bow (innate 10% armor penetration), give it a zealous string, a +marksmanship grip, have judges insight cast on you, put marksmanship up to 16 => Goto Town.

Having something to increase your attack rate (Tiger's/Frenzy/etc) and Favorable Winds = Be a barrage terrorist. Huzzah!

It's especially brutal in low/med level areas, brutal as in powerful as all get out. But honestly, unless you max out your marksmanship and that's your play style, it's not as effective as other ranger 'tricks' or builds in the higher level areas. (speaking from experience)

Cap status on Markis in Iron Mines
As of today it still can be capped on Markis in Iron Mines, just make sure you cap it before the last 2 jades die and end the mission.
