Best General Purpose Armor?
I'm planning to get a 15k Kurzick set very soon, and I was wondering which would be the most useful for the widest variety of situations.
Currently I'm leaning towards Berserker's or Dreadnought's (with a Duelist's Helm). A second (or third) opinion would be wonderful.

Personally, I'd go dreadnoughts (+10 armor bonus vs. ele dmg), or if you are always in a stance (i.e, ias), then get the one the one gives a +10 armor bonus (to both phys and ele dmg) if you can reliably keep the stance up for the whole fight. I don't really like those kinds of armors but that's just me.

If you are talking about PvE, +10 vs elemental would be fine. It's no good in PvP though.
If you want to use your character in both PvE and PvP, I'd suggest either +energy or +hp. Health armor is the general purpose choice, but many warrior builds can benefit from have an extra 7-8 max energy.

Yeah, +Health or +Energy is the way to go. Those will help you out everywhere....+armor or the Phys-dmg reduction can be less effective some areas, and completely useless in others....you won't want those 2 in pvp for sure.

i have been useing glads armor up untill nightfall, Now i use +energy chest and legs, and dreadnoughts arms and feet and helm. It really has been a good all purpose armor combo, and i have 27 energy (feet has attunment rune) and good all around armor

Dmg Absorbtion mods are horrible in pvp. Most of the damage you take will be elemental. Armor-ignoring damage + degen are very common too. Besides that, a smart prepared player will switch to a weapon that does ele damage instead of phys.

That's actually very bad all-around armor. Your Dreadnought pieces are in the wrong spots. Your chest/legs are most likely to get hit. Getting hit on your helm/hands/feet is somewhat rare. They should be on your chest only, and maybe legs. The way you're setup, those Dreadnought pieces are nearly useless.

Best general purpose armour... I've found it to be +hp - it's effective in any form of combat, against pretty much everything. That, or +energy if you happen to run energy-hungry builds more often.

Thanks for the tips guys. I've decided to go for the +HP set since I planned on doing both PvP and PvE (although I guess I could use a cheaper set).
Course, 10 bucks says that a month later they'll update Prophecies and Factions armours to be usable with insignia...

God I wish they would.
I wouldn't worry bout that though. It's always good to have a couple suits of armor.

You can always get a cheap 1.5k set later. Amber's cheap nowadays anyway. I'd suggest the +energy, especially if you want to run some of the more common builds in pvp.

Health is the best overall set for PvP, by a longshot. If you want a second set, go for Dreadnoughts.
Energy isn't terribly useful, but does have a place on a few specialized bars where you'll want a higher cap to unload a bunch of energy skills in a row.
Peace,
-CxE

Hehehe *takes notes*.
I've been wondering what armour to get... tempted to buy myself Primeval or 1.5k Kurzick. Mainly because i need to sort out my horrible set up with stats. Currently using a +1 Strength Knights helm (i know... i bought it about 17-18 months ago), Chest/Legs 15k Gladiators and the rest 1.5k Knights.
Its served me well... but i would like to reach 16 Mastery

If you want to save some money, you can just buy 1.5k helms and set them to not display. Most of the helms are fugly. Alternately, you'd have to buy expensive helms for every weapon and possibly tactics. Shame I can't afford 4 FoW helms....alas.

I used to have the armour with 90+10 vs phys, then i noticed that most warr builds made run on Glads armour, so when i bought my obsidian armour, Glads was a definite choice. Having 28 energy also means i never really run out in PvE, except for farming.

Glad's was the clear choice back when it was only prophecies. Well, with knight's boots and a stonefist gloves if you ran some KD.
Now with the spiky GvG metagame you want health. If you're in PvE, dreadnought's is good. Energy is fine, too, but how often are you between 5-10e on your warrior? Adrenaline ftw.

More energy is useful for energy-consuming bursts or shock-axe. Besides that you will never need anything else than +Health, never.
