I usually like to run with a staff in PvE, since it allows me to stay farther back and target enemies when I go with heroes/henchies. In regular groups, it's fun to be staffing/wanding stuff too
 Shields provide half armor if you don't meet the req, so it helps a bit, but I never really had trouble surviving as a monk to need a shield. |
