Default Question about Spirit Bonds nerfing

I have a question for the community. It is about the skill Spirit Bond. I know that the skill was nerfed back on October 25, but last night was the first time I was able to ask Gaile gray about it. I realize the skill was powerful but, I am wondering how they figure change spirit bond from

Is a fair middle ground?

I mostly do PvE so when the beat spirit bond down with the bat of nerf I could no longer do my builds. I like being a bonder over being the healer. Also it killed my farming build. I just want to know what some other people think.

Also for anybody who does a lot of PvE and not PvP. Does it seem it we a shafted because of PvP flavor of the month build?

Meh, most likely nothing to do about it.

But it was a very powerful skill..

It was WAY WAY overpowered. want a screenshot of me soloing trolls at lvl 7? you shouldn't be able to do that.

i can still solo Ghial with the old 55 spirit bond build...it just makes it so i have to press #2 a little more. It works fine still and i think its really no big deal. Although it does have some drawbacks

what I am saying is how can you make that radical of a change and say it is a fair balance, but on other skills they knockdown the heal or increase the recharge time.

Spirit Bond is one of the few skills that got nerfed for PVE reasons, not PVP.

I don't think I saw Spirit Bond much in PvP... I saw it a lot in Droks & Elona Reach for the Trolls and Minutars. It can still be used to tank the underworld but it just won't kill people as easily... Depending on where you use it, it is still a powerful skill. But for the people that try to max out the 10 attacks till it runs out, you will find yourself begging for energy sometimes...

This is another way they nerfed it
Quote:
If you perpetually use this spell (for example, in a solo farm build) you have to wait until the icon blinks or the spell has ended before recasting. The 8 second duration of Spirit Bond will not reset if cast before then, and you will still have to wait the 2 second recharge time before you can cast. (and the energy will have been consumed needlessly too) from Guildwiki
I saw it used a lot in fort aspenwood

Spirit Bond was been abused so badly in PvE it was bound to get nerfed. The abuse in Aspenwood was annoying too... but i honestly doubt Anet cared about that.

Seen it used on some GvG teams as an anti-spike. But nothing major...

Yeap it was abused, It allowed even the people that wasnt any good at farming to actually make gold to afford things as 15k armor. So Anerf had to do something about it or else there statement of the average account only has 20k in it would have been wrong, and we know Anerf is never wrong.

Come on people it is PvE. There isnt really a spell that can be consider overpowered.

Endlessly tanking an unlimited ammount of enemies seems kinda overpowered, but maybe i'm old fasioned about that...

This is the type of pure ignorance that causes most PvP'ers to claim that PvE'ers are just noobs that don't know anything about the game. I will not call you a noob, but I will say that blindly blaming changes to skills on PvP will not get you very far. Spirit bond was nerfed to 10 attacks maximum because of the 55 spirit bond build that can easily farm shiroken and trolls, not because it was overpowered in PvP. In PvP, no one is going to hit you for 60+ damage 10 times in an 8 second duration, so this change to the skill doesn't affect PvP at all. It was nerfed because of its strong PvE ability. Now go review your facts before you make a fool of yourself the next time around.

If it was overpowered because of PvP, the nerf would read: "For 8 seconds, whenever target ally takes more than 60 damage from an attacks or spells, that ally is healed for 30...65 Health" or something.

when i made the comment about PvE getting nerfed cuz PvP i was not referring to any certain skill just a general observation. FYI spirit bond is mostly used in conjunction with blessed aura and staff wrapping of enchanting. I have been playing for 19 month now so i know not all nerfs are just because of of PvP. as i said it was a general observation.
