Blazing Shouter Check it out!!
ok, so ive noticed that most people dont have an exceptional paragon, well i think i have found one thats pretty good. give it a try and tell me what you think!!
Attributes
Command-12
Leadership-12
Skills
"Incoming!" E
Blazing Finale
Anthem Of Flame
"Go For The Eyes!"
"They're On Fire!"
"Stand Your Ground!"
Glowing Signet
Rez
Overview
ok, so ill admit that there is a big flaw in this build right now. if you get hit by any anti-shouting, your skills are useless. but otherwise this build is great. start by casting Blazing Finale on your tanks and other front liners followed quickly by Anthem of Flame, ToF and "Incoming!" this will ensure that the enemies around your front line will be set on fire and stay on fire for a while. cast SYG when you have the energy for it and just spam GFTE. when you are getting low on energy Glowing Signet will give you around 14 energy from burning foes.
Give it a shot, works great for me, and let me know what you think!! ^_^

It might not attack directly, but the damage is still done. Paragons, by their very nature, are support characters. Just like a monk, they CAN attack, but so many of their skills are meant for support that it is almost easier to play mid field buffing instead of direct damage.

its for setting enemies on fire party wide. the only thing you need to attack for is to build adrenaline for GFTE.

Not every character needs to attack or defend. Check a monk for an example. This is obviously a support mitigation build, so when it comes to that, I think it might stand up as a damage/team defense build just fine.

The ToF Tank does it more efficiently. "Incoming" and 'Stand Your Ground" have been nerfed so much that they are both useless. Might as well use the ToF Tank and get some worthwhile damage out of it...

12 Axe mastery has a lower DPS than 14-16 spear mastery, so why not use spears?
ToF has taken some serious nerfs as well.

You missed Aggresive Refrain and the 2 Axe attack skills...
The ToF nerf is nothing. You just lose about 15% damage reduction, nothing special.

its nothing super exceptional, but its something that works pretty solid for a pure paragon build.
and, yes, i agree with everyone else that the ToF tank will probably do more damage, but this is built, like i just mentioned, to be a pure paragon build.

I would rather have a non pure paragon build that does more damage....or for that matter...one that takes advantage of the strong dps of the spear line....
but other than that.... if your fine with running around without doing direct damage....whatever....

Well to be honest, its not bad. Incoming is completely uselss in PvE, just incase you didnt know. Choose another elite.
Taking Incoming for a PvE paragon is like taking Rebirth for PvP.. you just dont do it..ever, theres never a good reason to take it.

You may want to add in a Spear skill (or two) into the build, and I can actually see you coming closer to the damage that the ToF Tank generates.

A high spear mastery para with Blazing Finale and spear attacks combined with a regular warrior will dish out more damage than some melee-para and a warrior together. You can either have a guy with 12 weapon master plus a guy with 14-16, or two guys with 14-16 mastery. There isn't any advantage for the para itself to be the object in melee.

Incoming is, as of right now, mainly used as a quick trigger for Blazing Finale. it has a short duration and fairly short recharge, making it good for spamming. if you have any sugestions for a better elite i would gladly consider them though.

Maybe you should just stick with being a boring tank and let other people come up with interesting builds then. Leave the thinking to the smart people.

well, i made this build to be support. if you want a front line paragon then go for the ToF tank. just like all monks dont have to be pure healing, not all paragons have to do damage. dont think just because they have front line armor that they cant be used for other things. their skills put them, naturaly, mid range when you think right down to it.

Well, if you take out "Incoming!" in favor of a better PvE elite, then use headgear and runes, you can lower Command a bit, and still have plenty of room for a healthy spear mastery attribute. Glowing Signet is most likely not needed, you have enough energy as it is from 12 leadership.
12+1+2 (or 12+1+1) Spear Mastery
10+2 Leadership
8+1 Command
And there you have room for two spear attacks with the removal of Incoming and Glowing Signet, you could clear a spot for a third if you decided Anthem of Flame + Blazing Finale + GFtE is too redundant.
I'd rather see a para set like this than some pretend-warrior any day. You aren't soloing and you will have other players on your team. The reduction in Command is certainly worth the DPS you'll gain by chucking spears at people.
Edit: I'd also cut a third skill from the build you posted for Aggressive Refrain. An IAS means more damage, and more adrenaline, meaning more GFtE spam.

maybe you should spend some more time reading the paragon threads....
first of all...I was not saying that the tof tank is the only build for the paragon... in fact I tend to prefer not tanking at all (which you would see if you read the builds that I posted) the spear line is excellent dps (and a much greater damage contribution to the team than shouting burning skills and GFTE) this build has its benefits yes... but it has more problems...
1. lets say you are with a warrior fighting away.... he is doing a little more damage with GFTE on hits that arent too close together (you are spending lots of time shouting rather than casting spears to build adrenaline) and some burning degen with the related skills.... true he has some armour with SYG but he will be running around anyway because 'tanking' on GW is effectively dead... (incoming is useless in pve as was stated before)
2. now compare the damage to someone who has brought agressive refrain AND GFTE/anthem of flame.... the damage is not even comparable....
3. and what happens if the warrior dies.... you are completely useless because you do not have any damage capabilities....
so its like I said.... this is fine if you dont mind the drawbacks... but it will never find its way onto my skill bar..... ( I do like to encourage paragon development as God knows we need more thinkers out there )

Crimson, you're making it sound like the warrior is the only thing doing damage. Honestly, I'll take a nice Domination mesmer over a warrior to dish out damage any day. Much more reliable and they don't simply think "me smashy" all the time.
Besides, the whole point of this build is to have fun setting things on fire. Maybe not by yourself, but this IS a team game, after all. Supporting the team members is just as fun as killing everything in sight.
