i've noticed quite a few weird mob spawns in fow as well. smtimes mobs of the same species fight each other, its unusual i think.
f/ex during the fow run last nite we saw abyssals fighting another group of abyssals - that was weird. we were getting to the forge and decided to leave the huge group of abyssals+warriors in peace. lag was terrible, we overaggroed the abyssal patrol while killing monks+mesmers group and runned for our lives, abyssal patrol in hot pursuit. the moment 1 group of abyssals saw another, they just went for it... mb AI was changed again?

Wha? I *REALLY* can't see Anet attempting to nerf smite farming by actually increasing there number. The more of them there are the easier killing them with ele becomes, and currently its the fastest method solo to my knowledge. Put it down to a bad spawn or 2x mobs.

This has only happened to me once...it never really posed much of a problem. This, I think, is just a chance event, I wouldn't get nervous or anything.

well i always get this. the only way i know of curbing this is to not move up so much when taking out the first grp of smites at this narrow passage way after the 2 aatx's

I have seen what the OP is referring to as well, a "group" of smites that is the size of two groups (6-10 smites) but behave as one group (you pull one and all the others run in). I'm pretty sure they're caused by a glitch, but the glitch is easy to work around - you need to aggro them, then run away until they lose aggro, then wait about ten seconds and re-aggro one. Usually this will "separate" the group so that they behave like two separate groups again. If it doesn't work, keep aggroing them and then running away until it does work. YMMV but this has worked for me. Also, when running away, don't use speed buffs, just run - the farther you get them away from their starting point, and the more you separate them, the better it works. Good luck.
