Okay after 1 of the events the people at Anet decided to nerf Chest's in area's well first I thought it was a bug and they also made a new update about a bug with chests but it never returned as it used too...

Well anyone chest running anymore ?

If u chest run where do u do it and is the drop rate worse then before ?

Had a couple of runs in RoT and the first couple of times it was only gold then it was only purple, well hope to hear good stories about ppl stil finding Ele swords and where.

What kind of running builds do u use in Desolation area ? (crystal overlook, ruptured heart and so on).

I think the only real benifitial chest run is FoW. Although obby keys cost 1.5k from a merch you can get some good drops like a chaos axe. FoW chest runs are also quite fun and require teamwork

I've never done chest runs, not before or after the so called nerf.

The keys always cost more than the merch value of the items from the chest, and selling without some kind of auction house is pointless and a waste of time.

I just sell my keys. Better rate of return.

Agreed for all chests apart from obby chests. With normal chests the drop rate of good items isnt normally that good but obby chests in the FoW give good drops, e.g Chaos axes. Chest runs have never rlealy been nerfed and are good if you are going for treasure hunter title and or wisdom. It is also a good idea to carry keys of the area you are in whilst going for the cartography titles.

I don't do "chest runs". I do take keys while exploring, questing, or capping. Every once in awhile, you get that high coin drop.

Once u get really bored with Pve beating elite missions a lot one takes a liking towards chess runs only for the title. Btw that nerf sucks but imo so does the Nightfall inscribable concept which helped lowered item costs besides the usual rare skin( on my soap box XD)

Need to open about 7 million chests (on one character) to get a top tier for treasure hunter. Ran 30 vabbi keys yesterday and got a whoppin 2 golds. Whats with the push-pull? You make the treasure rewards so astronomically high and then punish for continually opening chests?

has anyone started to feel like a pawn in this game????

I do belive it's either 10k or 5k for top rank TH, Not 7 milliion.

I only open chests for the title and got treasure hunter a while ago by doing solo runs on peridition rock as the chests spawn in the same area -Poor drops par but somtimes you get some sweet stuff

Chests in Urgoz and TOPK are nice either, don't know about the deep, only done it twice. TOPK is quite rewarding as a seasoned group can bash through it in an hour. Chest loot + free green isn't too shabby.

I'll do chest runs on occasion out in Vabbi outside of Grand Court when I'm bored and/or between missions, questing and helping guildies. I have got quite a few gold drops there, or at least enough that I figure it's worth doing them. Most of it was stuff for heros, but some nice stuff worth money too.

Chest runs are a great way to get your chest opening and wisdom titles. On average, while running FoW or DoA chests, you'll come up a little on top due to the high quality loot there, but remember it also takes a lot of time and the time could be used to farm for gold directly (at the cost of not being able to open as many chests).

I get nothin but purples with +5 armor mods, and occasionally a gold staff with an inspiration req, +1 channelling, and 20% cast time on spawning power spells

You guys no there are special chests that drop a gold every time but can only be used once right?

and that they are on the NightFall island not the continent so far i have mapped 2 of them.

Actually they can be used every month and they're all around Nightfall. Generally 2-3 per region.

I still chest run and find it highly profitable...I chest run Shiverpeak Keys outside of Grotto. I only open chests with Mursaat around them, nothing else. I have gotten about 5 perfect mursaat weapons in the making...I have opened about 250 chests there..Made probally 1 mil in profit. Gotta have money though....takes loads of patinence...

i have noticed alot of my drops are purple if theirs any monsters around but if i kill them i ususaly get better drops most of the time and also think about were the chest is like if its in troll cave major farming spot your drop will more likely crapy

Its 10,000 chests....

Anyway! I chest run ALL the time. I've ran over 5,000 chests post nerf and made all the money on keys back + a LOT of money (over 1.5 mil in drops).

3,500 of those keys were run in either Ring of Fire mission or Hell's precipice.

Definitely still worth while, but if you just run 10 keys and get 10 purples, you might say it sucks.

From my experiences, if you have money for at least 100 keys, you will almost always get your money back and more than likely multiply your input many times over.

I havent done chest running yet, just opened chests I found while exploring/questing and havent really got a good drop yet.
however I do wonder which chests are really worth it. perhaps Sorrow Furnace or Echoval Forest/Jade Sea or even "regulars" as in Southern Shiverpeaks, Ring of Fire, Vabbi, Desolation, Realm of Torment.

most people say that chest running isnt worth it any longer perhaps maybe FoW but all those places work for Treasure Hunter and Wisdom titles, so I wonder if I could also have good drops while attempting the titles or only feed the merchant
