Looking for Earth build for PvE
Title is self explanatory. There are way too many air and fire builds...and I would like to give earth a chance.

ehhh... earth isnt really meant for PvE, it shines in terms of wards and armor. but, other than that, for PvE at least, only thing i would think of is sandstorm. for pve nuking, i would stay w/ fire. if u wanna ward, you can go:
unsteady ground
earthquake
ash blast
gole
ward vs melee
ward vs ele
attunement
rez
or
sandstorm
obby flame
ward vs melee
ward vs ele
attunement
arcane echo
optional
rez
other than that, i would stick with the basic SF ele. or what i run, (cuz SF gets boring):
ele attunement
fire attunement
arcane echo
meteor shower
rodgorts invocation
fireball
incendiary bonds/liquid flame
rez

I run:
16 earth
13 Energy
Sandstorm
Arcane Echo
Obsidian Flame
Earthquake
Aftershock
Glyph of lesser Energy
Glyph of Sacrifice
Stoneflesh Aura
This is a really powerful nuker, and it can just run into aggro with Aura then glyph of Sac+earthquake, aftershock for absurd mass damage.
In tougher areas run Ward against Melee.

Basically, the money skills in earth are eruption and the wards, almost everything else is just filling slots.
If you can fit obsidian flame in there, that's a fine choice, although it's more fun to play around with ebon hawk ---> stoning.
Also fun is earthquaking things in the middle of savannah heat .

This is my build when I run earth:
E/Mo
1.) Glyph of Energy{E}
2.) Stone Daggers
3.) Ebon Hawk
4.) Stoning
5.) Earthquake
6.) Ash Blast
7.) Earth Attune
8.) Res Chant
Att.
16 Earth
13 Energy Storage
rest in healing
This is a easy PvE build that helps alot aginst warriors penetrating your back line and putting pressure on the monks ect. The object of the build is simple it is to knock people down and keep them blind. Keep Earth Attune up at all times. I start out with Glyph-->Earthquake-->Ash Blast on the first target. Then once the warriors head to the backline target one of them and Ebon Hawk-->Stoning-->Ash Blast if it is recharged. Ebon Hawk causes weakness, and when stoning hits an foe that is weakend it knocks the foe down. Ash blast does 57 dmg and blinds the foe for 16 seconds if you hit the foe while knocked down. So you have 2 knock downs and a skill that blinds a foe if they are hit while kocked down. Energy is not a problem if you keep attune up and use glyph everytime you use earthquake. I have used Ob flame instead of Stone Daggers but I just prefer Stone Daggers over Ob Flame. Hope I explained well enough.

If your going Earth then don't plan on doing damage.
Ward Against Melee and Ward Against Elements are extremely helpful in mitigating damage done to an entire party, provided that people bother to stay in them (I'm looking at you, Mhenlo...) Ebon Hawk is great for taking the bite out of melee attackers as it weakens them, knocking out 66% of their damage. Dragon Stomp/Unsteady Ground -> Ash Blast -> Epidemic is also nice for blinding an entire mob, along with Eruption.
Sandstorm isn't that great now... after armor reduction in PvE it does ~30 damage to attacking melee and ~50 to attacking casters, ~25 to non-attacking casters... pretty crappy imho
Meh and if you get bored with SF... dual attunement nuking is even more boring :P

Thats completely wrong, earth can do a great deal of damage for example my Dessert build That works both on single Targets and on groups of targets.
[skill]Elemental Attunement[/skill][skill]Earth Attunement[/skill][skill]Crystal Wave[/skill][skill]Teinai's Crystals[/skill][skill]Obsidian Flame[/skill][skill]Whirlwind[/skill][skill]Aftershock[/skill][skill]Armor of Earth[/skill]
or a slight Variance of it:
[skill]Shockwave[/skill][skill]Earth Attunement[/skill][skill]Glyph of Lesser Energy[/skill][skill]Crystal Wave[/skill][skill]Teinai's Crystals[/skill][skill]Whirlwind[/skill][skill]Aftershock[/skill][skill]Stoneflesh Aura[/skill]
both of which do a great deal of damage, (the bottom one more so on lower AL enemys and the Top on on high AL enemys)

True. Earth Magic can pump out some fantastic amounts of damage, as well as providing team support.
Use wards wisely. I usually take one ward unless there is something better but know what you're fighting. For example, if you're in the Realm of Torment, taking Ward Against Elements is a must! It helps a LOT against those Rains of Terror who like to spike you by having all 4 of them cast Deep Freeze at the same time. Use Ward of Stability in the Southern Shiverpeaks due to a lot of knockdowns. Where there is a lot of melee (Kourna, Kaineng) use Ward Against Melee...
To me, Earth Magic does two things...it deals damage AND helps the party if used correctly. For example... Eruption + Melee Attackers is great. AoE and Blinds. Now if you use Unsteady Ground on top of that it knocks them down and keeps them in the AoE for longer. I like to use an AoE (such as Sandstorm) followed by Dragon's Stomp on groups - this not only deals damage but knocks down multiple foes which also interrupts them. Ebon Hawk, if used on a moving foe, causes weakness leaving them vulnerable to knock-downs from Stoning.
I personally use a staff now with double Halves Casting Time (made it myself)...trust me...a three-quarter second Dragon's Stomp is so so SO good!
I generally change my earth build to suit the situation but skills I always seem to take with me are:
Earth Attunement
Glyph of Lesser Energy
A Ward (Choice depends where I'm fighting)
Eruption (I Looooove this skill)
Dragon's Stomp / Earthquake.
...the other skills I switch around a bit. I often take Unsteady Ground or Sandstorm as my elite...Soph's build (post #9) is nice if you don't mind being in close-quarters - but I prefer to cast from a distance.
