Thanks for posting this. The run works but I think the likelihood of getting anything valuable-i.e. Crystalline, Serpent Axes, etc. is virtually nil. I did this run 17 times yesterday and got nothing for my trouble but non-max staffs/wands and purple armor.

Colossal waste of time if you ask me.

I was hoping that nobody would post this. Not because I don't want others to have a share in the loot, but because anet *has* been pretty heavy handed with keyless chests once they've come up in the forums. I just enjoy the stoneskin run and it's fun to hope for a cool skinned weapon while I'm at it.

This is kinda old way of farming.. Its out for quite some time and Crystaline drops are extremly rare. Most of the times you get Purples armour drops which u salvage, if ur lucky, to some major vigors or few other runes of some value.

This run is only good if u get bored with other types of farming.

This first came up on the forums a year ago, a little while after SF came out, and has been posted about every so often. It's a little late for hope.

2 Monks and the rest Damage, maybe some Interrupts and Enchantment Remove against Herders and Dolyak Masters/Priests are useful too.

Just make your Way to Sorrows Furnace through Grenth's Footprint and pick up Kilroy Stonekin on your way.

In Sorrows Furnace there are 3 Chests that spawn during the Kilroy Quest.

After clearing the Area from Enemies those Quests will spawn, ready to be opened by you.

But don't open them instantly. Now that's the most important part! Flag your Heroes out of your Range, until their Names get grey.
When they aren't in your Range anymore, you can open the Chest, simulating that you are alone in your group - all Dropps from the Chest will be yours.

A lot of rare skinned Weapons drop there, Crystallines, Dwarven Axes, Serpent Axes, etc.
Unfortunately the Chests don't dropp Gold Weapons, all are purple, so 14^50 is the best Damage Mod you can get - which is still very good for a Crystalline Sword.

These Chests really fulfill on what you said and all said is very true. with 8 Henchies and no Heros i got a Grape req 9 14^50% Krytan Axe from those chests.

Crystallines are still pretty rare from these chests (for me anyway), Dwarvens and Serpents seem to appear slightly more often in my experience. I've farmed this a few times a week since the thread on getting the full chance of green drops by sending hench away appeared - and I've never had a Crystalline. 3 Dwarvens and I think 6 Serpents with a few random items like Krytan Axe, White Scythes, Dwarven Hammer and a crappy Magmas Arm.

These chests are a little wierd for quest reward chests also, it seems you can get anywhere between 1 and 6 (maybe more, but I haven't had more than 6) items from these chests sending hench away, where as the quests chests in Fissure of Woe and Underworld I can't remember the last time I saw more than 1 item come out of them and pretty much all parties I've been with there are 8 humans, so no lost items to hench. So the only way I can see anet altering this if they actually do change it, would be to reduce the number of item drops from them to match the FoW and UW chest quest chests - and they've never had a problem with rare skins dropping from those.

Chrystallines are still slightly rare from these chests, that's correct, but considering where else you can "farm" Crystalline Swords, the chance to get one there is rather big.

Got about 5 in like 3 days of escessive farming, some with good Damage Mod, some without any.

Maybe it's really a waste of time, but I just thought everyone should know this and have the chance to do this farm on their own, or just know that purple Crystallines aren't so rare anymore and so they aren't worth something like 100k - 100k + 50 Ecto.

Im glad this thread didn't go as far as the same one got in the biggest german GW Forum, where I opened one to.
Lots of people were really mad at me I think, some even said I've ruined there fun for playing GW.

I did about 10 runs, got a crystalline and dwarven axe drop on the same run (about my fifth run) have had 2 major vigors loads of other runes and junk.
And 2 gold chests one of which gave me a zealous sword mod but i had to buy keys so the mod just about coverd that.

ive dun about 5 runs..best thing i got is a krytan axe..wich went to merch and a dwarven hammer..are they even rare?

Only rare if they have a built in mod (IE: 14% 50>) or such, but for the most part the hammer/axe is "Rare", but only valued "Rare" if the built in mod (IE: 14% 50>) is there for it.

All I see it as a place to get some Major Vigors for heroes :-)
I got Dwarven Axe with terrible mod and Mursaat Hammer that went to a friend (it was a pity to just through it away)

It's even on Wiki that these chests have a shot at dropping a rare-skinned item. The "send away the hench" trick is what has me worried that the chests will simply be deleted.

Do the UW chests have a chance of gold drops or are they all grape as well?

OMFG are the rest of you so dense. Seriously. the Chests are quest chests they appear after you finsh the quest, they will not get nerfed. They are not like the DD chests. And yes ive known about it for a while.
