Default Ìnterupt build for Ranger

I need a good build for my ranger.
Touchy is nice, Barrage seems weak. However when it comes to dmg, eles are the best. So Interupt should be better. I tried using magebane shot on ranger, however margrid just uses it like she uses power shot. Just when it's recharged, on skill or not on skill. Interupting just seems lucky.
She does uses distracting shot and savage shot fairly well. But no magebane shot.

Any ideas on other interupt ranger or how to let her use magebane shot properly?

I have Margrid set up with the Choking Gas Interrupt build and it works a treat.

Incendiary arrows, choking gas, savage shot combo with high wilderness survival and expertise. I often also use mesmer interrupts with my rangers.

Concussion Shot to daze stuff mostly. Then Marksman's Wager to keep her stock on energy to keep spamming Concussion.

Totally agree. Practiced Stance+Choking Gas= Continuous Interrupt. Casters will NEVER get a spell off. I throw in Distracting Shot and Savage Shot for good measure. Favorable Winds and a Recurve Bow help matters too.

CG is better with shortbows and you don't really need FW.

It is possible to time 1 second casts through a choking gas ranger, even if they have flurry up.

The point of a choking gas ranger was to have practised stance + seeking arrows to interupt the ghostly hero's claim resource in the hall of heros, and not have the ranger useless for all other maps. However, choking gas rangers were extremely effective at shutting down caster spikes, especialy bspike, and would destroy casters that get to close together when kiting through wards, or trying to bodyblock.

I don't really see the point of interupts for general PVE use, because foes should not survive long enough for interupts to have a significant effect.

If you really need to interupt casters go with a cg ranger, the AI is probably is too dumb to do anything about it. Just remember to take out seeking arrows, because you aren't going to be interupting any ghostly heros, and cg interupts through block.

Use the new nf elite magebane shot (if interrupt a xxxx forgot that part it instantly recharges). That plus savage shot and distracting shot, maybe apply poison for extra dot and you have a good interrupter. Also go /mesmer for leech signet and power drain. Pure interrupter.

I presume that you've never come up against The Drought or a similar double-damage-enhanced PvE caster boss?

Set a mesmer or ranger up for interrupt spam and let them do their thing. In most of PvE they are more effective than having a damage dealer in their slot instead. For instance they don't let Terrorwebs let a meteor shower off often. Or the searing flames boss at the end of Dasha Vestibule is a problem for most parties, when magrid is set to interrupt then he isn't an issue.

As a monk I really notice the difference when the enemies aren't able to fire off their damage skills.

My ranger heroes go as barrage spikers with lightning reflexes.

FW/WW/WD, troll, distracting shot, Screaming shot, barrage, keen arrow, lightning reflexes, rebirth.

Works like a charm and is my default build for my ranger heroes.

Of course, at times I bring winter, broad arrow head, or other skills, depends on where I am doing what, but this is my standard built that works almost everywhere.

All my ranger heroes have a zealous flatbow so energy and precision is not that big an issue, expertise at 13-14, depends a bit on the runes I find.
