just wondering, what would be the best PvE prot elite if im running this kind of bar:

GoLE
RoF
Prot spirit
dismiss
rebirth

maybe SoR, GoH, blessed aura as a hybrid?

or maybe aegis, ZB, and guardian as pure prot?

Well, I would ask that you stop hyper abbreviating everything. For those of us whose brain doesn't think that way it makes helping you a bit more difficult. (When us "old school" monks try to figure out these new spella-majigs it confuses us. RoF and WoH are easy, but not quite sure what things like GoLE are)

Use full words, or even those nifty little spell icons.

(And I enjoy Shield of Regen, but if you're having Energy management problems Zealous Bene might not be a bad choice either. Lemme do some digging and i'll get back to ya)

Why don't more people run Shield of Deflection as their prot elite? I much prefer it over Shield of Regeneration.

Ok, this is the bar I ran in FoW the last time the Americas had favor. (Yes I know Rebirth uses all your energy but we'll get to that later). This is your typical barrier/bonder build and I tend to love using it. For one, it makes me feel all uber when nobody is dying. And typically with prot at 16(and chancing it at 17 with the right weapons) you end up with 50% damage reduction from one, and a 45 point damage reduction with the other.

This leads to lots of nice red zeroes popping up on you, while your energy sky rockets. Upon reading through some of the new skills there are a number that I think would work beautifully in this build were I to actually have them..

Optional skills (The last 3 are the only optional slots for this build).

[skill]Dismiss Condition[/skill]
[skill]Power Drain[/skill] (if you're able to watch the enemy as well as your people)
[skill]Watchful Healing[/skill] - if things are getting stripped
[skill]Divine Healing[/skill] - If your energy is plentiful and people are still hurting, this one is a good pop heal (though I believe there are some others that would work as well)

[skill]Blessed Aura[/skill] is also tempting to throw in there, but i wouldnt count on maintaining an enchant for too long

basically... its kinda anti-melee oriented IMO... it is very nice though, dont pass it up

because they have guardian which costs 5 energy and isnt elite. the armor bonus might sound nice, but it isnt really used with a 75%chance to block. and the armor and regen from shield of regen along with a spike heal,can save a teammate from almost anything.

It's good and all, but there's no real reason to run it instead of Guardian and/or Aegis when those two skills are present. ZB is too good, as well.

To your question of being "hybrid" or "full prot", why not go GoH + ZB?

You don't need to be /E or /Mes for Protect there are others as well
